I just wondered what you ladies/gents favourite Gerry Anderson Space 1999/ UFO /Classic Trek episode is?

I know this is a model forum but...

 

I cant remember too much before sitting on a coal shed in the mid seventies playing with a space 1999 Stun Gun and the Dinky UFO/1999 range..

 

Bought the UFO DVD set a few years ago and we switch between Space 1999/UFO and classic Star Trek with very little other SCI-FI other than I bought the original Galactica series this year.

although have not watched Space 1999 for months... mainly UFO or classic Trek (and I cant stand any other than the original series) 

 

We watch UFO on repeat sometimes and although Timelash and Mindbender are my favourites , other than the George Cole episode, they are all pretty amazing..  The Square Triangle I like for the Mobile scenes and Court Martial, The Psycho Bombs are pretty good episodes as is the Sound of Silence (The Horse rider episode) plus Sub Smash..  just not really one poor episode

some amazing supporting cast and plots...        Space 1999 I have not watched for months but pretty much gone off season two, when Frieberger changed the shows tone.  Season one had so many gems, The Last Enemy is top of my list, with Dragons Domain probably joint favourite, then Force of Life, Black Sun, Alpha Child , Breakaway and Earthbound.

 

Has anyone seen any UFO/Space 1999 props/models in the flesh or met any of the cast?    K

My favourite Space 1999 episodes were the first one, Breakaway, and Dragon's Domain, which was pretty scary when I first saw it back in 1975 (when I was considerably younger than I am now). 

 

While I've never met any of the original cast, I have seen some of the props at various exhibitions. A friend of mine had one of the original 44" Eagles, but he's now sold it.

Never saw UFO but was a fan of Space 1999 as a young kid and the first sci fi model I ever made was the Airfix Eagle Transporter. 
 

Breakaway, Dragons Domain and The Metamorph stand out for me and Dragons Domain inspired me to design an Eagle with a detachable command module. 
 

I remember seeing some of the filming models on a special display at Alton Towers during the early 80’s.

I'm sorry that my question is more Die Cast related than model but I have to ask this somewhere,  I have the original Dinky Star Trek USS Enterprise (with the small orange Shuttle Craft) and Klingon Space Ship - The big ones which fire the annoying white discs which always go missing! -  and was wondering wether anyone could please tell me are the new Corgi Star Trek Enterprise Die Cast models the same size as this these Dinky ones or bigger or smaller?

I have been lucky to have seen the large UFO Interceptor and Eagle one and I am extremely proud to have been involved in the rebuilding of the original Moon Base Alpha model which is now on display at the National Film Sci Fi Museum in Milton Keynes.😊
