Chris951
Not sure how many of you either have bought from or lust after some of their stuff but Accurate Armour have just announced that they are shutting down next year. Quote We have decided to close the doors of Accurate Armour Limited next year and I will then retire from model manufacturing and Rob will pursue a new career. The closing process has now started and we are in Phase-1. All items marked in green on our website are available to order as usual, and many will continue to be made until production casting ends in a few weeks time. There will be a lot more to say at later dates but today we are just getting the message out. Thank you for reading and best wishes. Derek Hansen.

bootneck
That is sad news. I won't be able to save enough funds to get the remaining items that I want/need by the time Derek retires. Mike
Bullbasket
Sad news indeed. I wonder if they'll still attend Telford in November. John.
evilbobthebob
That's very unfortunate. I wonder if they will sell their moulds to another business.

tony007
Does anyone know when next year they are closing up shop?
Mike
That's a shame, but several of what I'd imagine were their best sellers from their range have been supplanted by plastic kits these days, but they do still do some great stuff for those with the bravery to tackle full resin kits. If I had the time and money, I'd have more of their stuff in my collection 1

sandsmodels
not surprised, they started around the same time as i did and they were older than me, running a resin casting model business is getting harder all the time, brexit did not help and the sudden upsurge in order due to covid did not last long. as you get older you do have to think about stopping at some point, not easy when you start from scratch. i always admired AA models and always had a good look at them at truck n tracks shows when we traded there, although in a different scale than mine i could see the amount of work that went into them. good luck in the future chaps.

When Takom Brought out the 432 AA started selling conversion kits for it based on their own 432 kit. On 27/08/2024 at 13:47, tony007 said: Does anyone know when next year they are closing up shop? bigfoot
Looks like AA might not be reopening its store after saying it would reopen on 9th September. Current message is they will reassess in October as to whether they will do a final order before closing. Disappointing if like me you weren’t quick enough to get an order in before the store closed as might not get a chance now.

Likw wise, I wanted to order some resin tracks for my Tamiya M8 for the current GB but as you say unable to order anything. It must be quite galling that you say that are closing down then suddenly everyone wants your products. I wanted to do a decent order. Hopefully they will reopen after the initial mad rush. Must be a few like you and I, Bigfoot.
sanfrandragon
I should have learned my lesson from Wingnut Wings; stop prevaricating and buy what I want whilst it’s still available. I hope they re-open to clear out the stock as there’s a couple of their less popular offerings that I wish I had ordered.
