geoawelch
For those of you using photo cubes, lightboxes, etc. for photographing models, what brand/model do you use and are you happy with it? Likes/dislikes/recommendations? I am knowledgeable about photography so am not asking for help in that respect. Appreciate your thoughts. Cheers, George
dnl42
I borrowed commandeered a basic photo light box that my wife stopped using, similar to one of these. Examples shots are here, here, here, here, and of course, here. The example I have is really too small though. I'm now printing a 'sweep stand' that may better suit my needs as it enables much wider backdrops. I'll post some images with it once it's done printing. Casey
I have a two of those cheap ones and for me the biggest issue I face is that their LED light they provide is having so low CRI I want to cry. The ones with controlled color temperature are marginally better. I ended up sticking a good quality lamp into the opening in the box and forget the built in lights. You can put their advertised 95 CRI in a fairy tales category, next to those that claim 500 CRI Other than that, they are mediocre but not a deal breaker. Matt backgrounds are pieces of paper, diffuser is a thin mesh and the construction is a bit wobbly, but they do the trick better than not having a lightbox.
