Popular Post scottyphbeta
Here is my Mach2 Armstrong Whitworth Argosy C1, XP450 of 70 Squadron based at RAF Akrotiri in circa 1974. I wasn't going to post this as its no where close to most models posted on this site but it kinda looks like an Argosy but as there are no other 1/72 kits on the market, and it filled a gap in my quest to build every RAF type in 1/72 since 1950 so i thought I'd share. It is agricultural to say the least (which i knew from reviews), didnt realise how much filling, sanding and whittling would be needed and patience finally ran out but I did learn a lot from the near death experience. The paint did hide more than I thought and a lot of the mistakes are not noticeable on the tablet camera. Learnings can be taken on to the Mach2 RAF Comet 4C that I've just ordered 🙈 77 2
ColinChipmunkfan
Excellent work on a difficult kit. The end result looks great. Shame none of the regular manufacturers have not risked making one. Colin
Drakendk
I think it looks amazing. And knowing it is a Mach 2 kit, i think you should be proud 🙂 1
Pete in Lincs
A very nice whistling wheelbarrow. (The name it was given in polite company) Well done for overcoming the kits shortfalls and welcome back from near death.
Retired Bob
One to be proud of. Such a pity there is not a better kit of it in the Gentleman's scale. Have a lie down in a darkened room before starting the Comet.

TheyJammedKenny!
That's a triumph! It really looks good, and is genuine Argosy to me! Regarding the Comet, be prepared to chop the wings along the chord line about halfway along the span and straighten them. Also, strongly recommend that you purchase as much aftermarket resin as possible, including the intakes, engine exhausts, and wheels.

Thanks for the heads up, I've been having a read up so have got the resin exhausts and wheels sourced.
MilneBay
Wonderful job. Having built a couple of Mach 2 kits myself I can say you have done wonders to even finish it.

cardiff guy
Always tip my hat to anyone who beats a MACH 2 kit into shape.
Dave Klaatu
It may be a problem kit, but you sure did a great job with it! Nice build, congrats!
Mr T
From personal experience I know the Argosy is not an easy build. Not only are there some of the common issues with Mach2 kits (flash, instructions, transperiences that aren't, fit), but it is a twin boomed aircraft. These are often not straightforward to set up. This one is mine from 2022. https://www.britmodeller.com/forums/index.php?/topic/235107127-172nd-raf-armstrong-whitworth-argosy-c1-mach2-kit-finished/
Andrew.S
What a beast! Lovely build, well done!
Lord Riot
Superb! There’s nothing wrong with that at all, and given the standard of Mach 2 kits you’ve worked magic on it. Looks great in crud n’ custard too, the best RAF transport scheme in my opinion.

kapam
Nice job, quite a beast of a model in 1/72! Hard to tame too, I don’t doubt. You got a great result from your hard work!
Billy54
Very nice! It will look good on the shelf. I have a few Mach 2 kits in the stash and have never had the courage to start them, your build may inspire me to take the plunge

Horatio Gruntfuttock
Having built three or four Mach2 kits myself I endorse the positive comments above - great job and she certainly looks like a 'Whistling Wheelbarrow'.
Ad-4N
I salute anyone who can beat a Mach 2 kit into submission. Great job.
tomprobert
A fine job on a tricky build, I’m sure. Having built a few of Mach 2’s finest myself, I can imagine it fought you a bit along the way but the end result is most definitely worth it!
Donald
Well done, that's a fine looking Argosy. I remember seeing one of these in the mid or late 70s just after the RAF phased them out of the transport role; I think one was used for navigation aid calibration for a while. VG 33
Hello This really nice and as some of us I have already suffered with a Mach 2 kit. The plane is very interesting but I have not buy one so far. My next Mach 2 kit will be the Douglas DC 8. Cheers. Patrick
