Bengalensis Posted July 31 Posted July 31 The new Alpine from 2018 onwards probably don’t need much presentation. A 1/24 scale kit of it may need more presentation. This is actually a “kit” that only entered my house as a downloaded set of computer files (3D stl-files and graphic files for the decals and instructions) as well as liquid resin and sheets of clear pet-g, decal film and masking paper. Then it’s the 3D-printer, vac forming machine, decal printer and digital cutter on my work bench that helped me produce the parts to build from. The file set is created and sold by a guy operating under the name 3DVM on Cults 3D, and it’s a very well made set of files you get. Not perfect, I’ve done some smaller adjustments and tweaks, but I’m very impressed with what you get. It was a very enjoyable and interesting build all through, and you can find it all in the WIP-thread over here. I hope you will enjoy the photos of the finished model below. 20 8 1
Alpha Delta 210 Posted July 31 Posted July 31 Wow! Beautiful model of a beautiful car in a beautiful colour! 1
Kitkent Posted July 31 Posted July 31 Ditto! This 3d stuff is on another level, especially when you’re saying about liquid resin and clear pet- g. I do have a 3D printed kit, which is absolutely brilliant! The kit has turned out exceptionally well,in the correct colour?! Is that your number plate? Chris. 1

This is painted in "485 Bleu Alpine" which is the correct classic colour for the real (as in the original) A110, some A310 and R5 Alpine. I'm not sure if it's exactly the same blue on these new Alpines, but it must be very close. The registration number is just a plausible number that doesn't (at least currently) exist, just for fun.
cmatthewbacon Posted July 31 Posted July 31 That looks absolutely fantastic, Jorgen. “Just like the real thing” as those chaps at Airfix used to say. Beautiful finish and detail, and your extra work detailed in the WIP has really paid off. This new fangled stuff seems to work very well in your hands! Don’t take this the wrong way, but it looks as good as if it had been one of Tamiya’s finest… best, M. 1
keefr22 Posted July 31 Posted July 31 Said it in the w.i.p. thread, so I hope you don't mind me repeating it, but that is a simply stunning model, and the quality looks on a level with the best commercially available kits - if not a level higher! With your usual precise, clean and neat assembly, paintwork and finishing it is a lovely build of one of today's best 'retro-look' cars (Ford - look and learn what you could have done with the new ''Capri''...!!) Really enjoyed watching the future come to life in the build thread....!! Top, top work once again Jörgen Keith 1 1

When this new tech can produce a kit that matches what we get from "real" kits, it's really getting somewhere. 2 hours ago, keefr22 said: Said it in the w.i.p. thread, so I hope you don't mind me repeating it, but that is a simply stunning model, and the quality looks on a level with the best commercially available kits - if not a level higher! And indeed; Ford, and others, look at Alpine and learn 😎 1
Stu_davros Posted July 31 Posted July 31 A stunning model Jörgen, really inspiring build. I love the Alpine and I have the means to print my own copy so I may have to invest in the same .STL And just today I saw this in the local Tesco car park, if only I had 65k to spaff on a car. 2
ajwebb Posted July 31 Posted July 31 Absolutely stunning! Makes me wanna buy a real one (20 years later). It's amazing what modern technology can do. At least you didn't have to model the car, like I'm trying to do. So. Many. Nodes! 1
Toftdale Posted July 31 Posted July 31 As everyone else has said simply gorgeous and its been fascinating watching the process of her coming together. Thanks for sharing - Andy 1
Spiny Posted August 1 Posted August 1 This shouldn't really be a surprise given the quality of your work, but I cannot think of another 3-D printed model which has come even close to the quality of this build. Obviously it's not a hindrance that this is a pretty car too (weird, I thought I posted this last night) 1
galaxyg Posted August 1 Posted August 1 Fantastic result and super interesting process to get there as I followed along in the WIP. If I didn't already have enough hobbies to fill my time, I'd want to do the same and hope I could get anything near as good as you've done. But alas, I'll have to stick with whatever Injection Moulded kits are there and hope that someone, one day, makes one of these. Really really really nice. And the colour too. What a beaut! 1 1
Kiertomäntä Posted August 2 Posted August 2 This is simply pretty. Almost makes me want to do one myself. Almost. Also the WIP was really entertaining to follow. Although I'm pretty surprised still no manufacturer has made this into a model. Licencing issues would be my guess. 1
triumphfan Posted August 3 Posted August 3 A lovely model, great result. It doesn't seem to be that long ago when I first heard of 3D printing. Back then, the conversations led to thoughts of just downloading and printing kits at home, now it's a reality!! Atb, Steve. 1

That colour was actually available for quite a while as part of Alpine Atelier customisation. I think it was Bleu Alpine Heritage aka. Alpine Heritage Blue, part of 26 special colours available for A110 Colour Editions, of which only 110 samples of each colours are available. I think all the batches for Alpine Heritage Blue is already sold out. Also can I just say that your print result is close to the quality of the likes of Alpha Models? Looks stunning, it does justice to the A110. 1
othertales Posted August 11 Posted August 11 The WIP process was great to follow and all the work you put into it really shows—it looks incredibly beautiful and the level of detail and realism is immaculate 💙 Really stunning build. 1
