Here is a model of my own 1980 Renault 30 TX. The base model is a 1/24 scale diecast Dacia 2000, a Romanian built R20 TS, stripped down and rebuilt. The TX-wheels, tyres and the head light surrounds are 3D-drawn and printed. Luckily the interior of the base model had all the R30 features in it, so it’s mostly just cleaned up and repainted with some little detail corrected. I cut up and detailed the open sun roof. The wind deflector was vac formed over a 3D-printed plug. The decals for the emblems and the small stickers are drawn in AutoCAD and Photoshop and printed on my Alps. There is an excuse for a WIP-thread with some build pictures over here. I hope you will enjoy the new photos below.

Thats amazing, often (mostly!) model cars look like models of cars.

This looks like sales brochure photos of the real thing!!

Excellent build and modifications. Using that colour was a touch of class that really transports the whole car to the right period and feel 🤎

Lovely build of a car not often seen in real life, let alone built as a model. Love the colour too, very appropriate.

I have to admit that I was looking at that thinking it looked old fashioned for the '80s, then it occurred to me that it is a 1980 model and was a competitor for the Austin Maxi - suddenly it doesn't look so old fashioned.

Great model, and you used all the right techniques to make that so! Btw, I didn't know (before this) that Dacia had been a Renault-related brand already in the 80's. I always thought they founded that brand no sooner than some years ago.

Fantastic! Great to see such a rare car get built, and so nicely too.

I'm interested to rear that you have a 1980 example, that must be an unusual car in Sweden? Even when I visit France I see very few of them, and none on this year's holiday.
