Vince1159 Posted August 2, 2024 Author Posted August 2, 2024 I'm a massive fan of Lee Evans and everytime i hear this i well up...
Karearea Posted August 2, 2024 Posted August 2, 2024 This came on in the car during the school run, thought it was too ‘Brit’ not to mention on Britmodeller. One of my favourite pieces and one I haven’t listened to for quite a while. Played it with appropriate volume to the mortification of the kids 😎 2 1 1

Bullbasket Posted August 4, 2024 Posted August 4, 2024 Ahhhh! Real music. I've got a five vinyl box set of a Benny Goodman concert at Carnegie Hall in the '30s, with Lionel Hampton and Gene Kruper. Great music. John. 2

Lightningboy2000 Posted August 11, 2024 Posted August 11, 2024 From the original members of Propaganda who made the track Duel, the one we always hear on the radio with Claudia Brucken on vocals. After forty years, they are back with a new singer & a couple of new songs.
Andy H Posted August 11, 2024 Posted August 11, 2024 I have absolutely no idea why this one's been living rent-free in my head since early this morning. Not as if The French Connection's been on telly recently...

Whofan Posted August 17, 2024 Posted August 17, 2024 Not listening to right now, but I always choose a few CD's to play in the car on the way to and from shows. For todays West Mids Police show in Birmingham, only about 40 minutes away, I chose the Sweet's best of and Tina Turner's best of. The Sweet's best of has some absolutely great songs on it, including this one; Covered by Def leppard, too! As for Tina, there's only one song on her best of to put here, the magnificent River Deep Mountain High. This is (an edited) promo video from when it was first released. When you listen to the lyrics, knowing how Ike treated her, I find it impossible to understand how she was able to sing those lyrics without breaking down. And you have to give Phil Spector some serious applause because this was the record that defined his wall of sound recarding technique. The song is in my top 5 singles of all time list. 3
