The Madness prevailed! Here it is finished.

Materials: a  few bits of an Airfix Bentley, styrene sheet and strip, aluminum sheet, scaffolding tube, brass sheet, tube and bar, 3d print (the dampers), fishing line, bass wood, clear acrylic rod and stuff I can't remember.  Overall winner Manawatu/ Wellington IPMS Model expo 2024.

With the low sun, it got difficult to get good angles, so I waited for the clouds...

Just wow! Great looking result, must be very impressive to see this in real life in this scale! Fantastic details and these hills and garden also make a great scenery to shoot pictures! Seems like a great place to live 👍

Excellent work on this one, there's no evidence that you've severely altered the base kit - it's just a really good end product with no issues at all as far as I can tell.

That is simply beautiful! Great details all round, but I think what I really like most is your paint finish looks absolutely spot on for the period!

Fantastic modelling!

Few people can assess the amount of work that such a reconstruction requires....

Great work

A marvelous project in every respect ! Makes me want to build the 1/43 white metal kit of it I've had for at least 25 yrs, for which it will be a great reference.

That is an outstanding model. Everything is in scale and just looks 'right' from every angle. The red bodywork is a bit of a jolt after every Bentley I've seen seeming to be green or black and white, it really does lift the car to another level.

I have been following this build in Jo's work in progress posts. This has culminated in a very beautiful model of a unique racing car.

A major conversion/scratch build from the Airfix 1/12th scale kit that was based on a shorter wheel based car.

I have only seen one other model converted into the Birkin machine. That was at Telford a few years back. I believe the modeller hails from Newcastle, and built his Birkin Bentley in its original blue racing colour. Again a very nice model to have seen up close.

nothing more to add here , that hasn't been said , kudos to you !!👍

did you build the hoods or do they come from the kit ?

Edit : went to see the w.i.p , and had my answer😉
