Funny that they make a big deal about the collector's coin, "once they are gone, they are gone forever" 😄.I'm pretty sure 99% couldn't care less about pins, badges or coins. What is exciting is the new  mk VIII kit and that iconic scheme.

Fantastic! This will be a definite purchase. Ecstatic that scheme B is a 152 Sqn machine.

Where are you seeing the other schemes Karearea? It could be me, but I can't see them on the Airfix website.

(I am very excited about this release!)

The Jadlam link mentions them:

Decal Schemes:

- Scheme A.
Sqn Ldr Bruce Watson, No. 457 ‘Grey Nurse’ Squadron, Royal Australian Air Force, Morotai, 1945

- Scheme B.
No. 152 (Hyderabad) Squadron, Sinthe, Burma, 1945

- Scheme C.
307th Fighter Squadron, 31st Fighter Group, USAAF, Italy 1944

Very excited too!

Have a peek at the Jadlam web site  -  link in post above.  3 completed models and one a USAAF scheme.

That USAAF scheme is a bit different than the usual Middle Stone/Dark Earth ones.

ordered mine too with a lovely £71 in hobby points off :) (plus 10% club discount so another tenner) £22 delivered because I couldn't work out how to get free delivery, even adding another pre-order item just split the hobby points and I still ended up paying for delivery

Different and unexpected... this scheme was used after 31st FG left their Spitfires for P-51s and this machine was used as a hack by the unit. A proper war veteran but represented at a time when she didn't fly in combat anymore

1% idiot here, the coin was the reason I bought the new 1/72 P-51D combo kit instead of waiting to just order the overtrees 😆

What an awesome surprise! I've always liked the 457SQN scheme but the price is a little scary for Aussies. Still might need to get one, though...

Quite interested in this. Perhaps I  can do one of the 67 Squadron ones in Burma that my late father in law worked on as an armourer courtesy of being in the RAF Servicing Commandos following his time in Normandy.

Could Airfix be persuaded to re tool their retool of the Mk9of just a few years ago and do a Mk.8 too???

I had promised myself not to buy another Spitfire again. But I simply cannot resist to buy this one. I have always loved the Mk. VIII. I am sure you all can understand me….

Another assault on my credit card!

I'm sure there will be one or two aftermarket decal sheets for this - as I've remarked elsewhere, not every RAAF Mk VIII carried a shark's mouth ...

The fact that this one has the 152 Sqn scheme confirms for me that I’ll apply ‘Hava Go Jo’ A58-517 on a 1/48 Mk. VIII. My favourite Aussie Spitfire of that mk.

Love it!! Never thought we'd see this one. Thank you Airfix!

My wallet hates you though. It's getting over worked.

Especially if 'Aircraft in Pixels' gives this a work over.
