dov Posted July 9, 2024 Posted July 9, 2024 Hallo I am on the Kitty Hawk P-39 kit right now. It was a fast decision, to make a model where I can exercise weathering a bit more. So my P-51 serie in 1/48 have a short hold. Since here in the forum are some builds already, but most of the pictures are gone. So the threads are not at all helpful or informative. My first question is: Is there a weight neccessary to prevent a tailsitter? I have in mind that there may be some fitting issues at the nose section. If you have any informationen, so let me know please. Happy modelling
gingerbob Posted July 10, 2024 Posted July 10, 2024 Guaranteed you'll need weight! And to answer the next question, my standard answer: "Enough" 1
ilj Posted July 10, 2024 Posted July 10, 2024 https://www.tapatalk.com/groups/hyperscale/red-cobra-1-32-wip-t532899.html this kit is engineered with the aim of having every access door open, if you want these closed the fit is not too good so you'll have a lot of putty work 🙂 ilj 1
dov Posted July 10, 2024 Author Posted July 10, 2024 Hallo Thank you so far. I am getting along, with the idea to leave panels open, since the fit issues! I will start a WIP, to let you see more. The question is still there. Happy modelling
dov Posted July 11, 2024 Author Posted July 11, 2024 Hallo I had to notice, that the P-39 is an aircraft, with a total different weathering pattern. No corosion highly visible. Pictures from Rusia show that the paint is on! What did Bell make different to all other companies on surface treatment? Maybe experts know the answer? Happy modelling 1
