Very interesting machines. I like the consistency in paint jobs for prototype designs. It sets them apart from the operational ones. Well done.

An excellent idea to build two models to show the wings folded and extended. 👍

Now we know where the design of the Star Wars X-Wings originated from… 😀

Just a very novel idea to portray this unique airplane to show both modes it can fly in.  Interesting concept, but you know the wing folding mechanism would deteriorate the performance versus a similar aircraft without the wing apparatus.  Like comparing Wildcats with non-folding wings and those with folding wings.  Thanks for sharing.

This certainly demonstrates how innovative the Russians were in that  late  ‘30’s period.

Such an unusual subject really nicely modelled.

As it’s an A model kit, is it an injection mould, not a resin kit?

I agree - never heard of this beastie before - nice work!

Thank you very much. This one is from a serie of not ordinary Soviet plane of the 30/40.

Some are already on this site.

Thank you mate. Yes indeed, this one is a plastic one.

More to come.

Fantastic looking models, great to show the flying/folded version.

And a great use of an old matchbox stand.

Thank you very much.
