Hello, I started modeling on and off for a few years in the early 2000's with a heavy interest in 1:35 WWII and modern armor along with 1:24 cars and 1:48 rotary aircraft. I went on hiatus for a bit but I find myself with some free time now that I'm more settled. I've been lurking around this forum since its early days but never signed up. Finally getting around to changing that now—just wanted to say hi to everyone! 🙂

Welcome to the site!

The last time I was in CA I took a 53' dry van trailer to west LA. Not fun!

Hello Vin … from the city of Chicago USA, just a bit east of you.

That makes a change, you're normally out west. Well it seems I'm a bit further east than you from our Newby, Vin.

Hi Dennis, not that far relatively. That’s great, I try other subjects too and have a few 1/48 aircraft in the stash. I have only built a Hasegawa A7D that didn’t turn out as well as I hoped but I’m looking forward to redeem myself on the next aircraft build.

Thanks! I can barely manage driving around there with my car!

Hello and :post1: from South Lincolnshire, UK.

Good have you on board and no longer lurking in the far west corner.

Thank you! It feels good talking to like minded folks.

We all have those builds so don't fret over it, you’ll beat the next one. Say hi if you're ever in this part of the country.

Yeah, with a big stick. It's very therapeutic.

It’s all good, I learned a lot from it. I don’t travel much within the country but I’ll keep that in mind, thanks!

G'Day Vin,

Great to see some variety in interests. I like 1:35 afv, arty and B-veh and 1:48 planes. I admire those who expand thier skills across different subjects. Different finish, different concntration.

Cheers,

Peter

Hi Peter, I was fortunate to have my dad and my uncles who were into a wide variety and subjects of scale models growing up, I naturally fell into it and continue to find what else I can try, this is one of the best things about the hobby for me.

That is true, so much mistakes were made jumping from one to the other, learned a lot though.

Thanks!

-Vin
