Hello everyone,

Browsing Scalemates I found some 1/144 cockpits detailing kits that I'd need for my projects (B-26 Marauder for exemple) made by Airfield Accessories/Matador Models.

https://matadormodels.co.uk/

The website isn't up to date and there is no  way to contact them directly (except from fax).

Does anyone here have had experience with them recently ?

Since they require all my card info on their order from I prefer to be sure before doing anything.

Thanks !

P.S : Apologize if this topic isn't in the right section, I haven't found a real relevant one where to post it

I know Matador Models sometimes come to model shows in the UK.  The most recent was the Salisbury show on 1 June.  You might be able to get some contact details from IPMS Salisbury, or they might be able to pass on a message for you.

matador models were at the Littleport show today with a wide range of kits. While buying a kit I enquired about why the website was last updated 4 years ago .Apparently due to a computer crash, and lack of an extant working backup the owner no longer has access to it. Also they deal with card payments the old fashioned way of taking full details rather than online payments system.

So certainly still trading and it's a pity this thread was started this evening as a number of BM members were at the show and could have got more details.

I'm glad to know they're still here.

Problem is I have no way to know if the prices and the order form are up to date or no.

It's a shame they lost access to their website. Imho they could create a Facebook Page or something so pontential customers can interact with them.

Anyway thanks for your answer !

Personally I wouldn't just send my card details to anyone, regardless of who they are, as there would be zero security!

Buying on-line via a https web address or via Paypal are the safest bets, or find them at a show and pay cash.

HTH.

Kind regards

I've no doubt he is a nice bloke but if his payment method(s) are old school then it is a risk as others can and will exploit any weaknesses.

Just saying as I've been 'done' in the very recent past by a reputable seller whose payment methods were compromised without their knowledge so I ended up out of pocket with nothing to show. Absolutely not them scamming me but others were and will be  using fake web and e-mail addresses etc., especially with AI now making fakes even more convincing and harder to spot.

HTH.

Kind Regards

Pat.
