Time for a TSR-2

There’s definitely a decent result in the offing, despite its challenges. Looking forward to seeing what you do with yours.

I think I have worked out a cunning plan to get a good result, and I think I have a protractor somewhere in a draw.  Let battle commence.  :hobbyhorse:

Now you've got my attention... 😮

Might have to visit my plastic boneyard to see if there's a salvageable airframe at this rate!  A potential what-if to go alongside a white ghost might be on the cards...

Hopefully you have a salvageable airframe and still have all of the rest of the parts.  I think we've taken up enough of Gerard's thread.  I'll post new TSR,2 conversation in the GB chat thread.

Agreed! I have to say the progress you're making Gerard has inspired me to give the kit another chance. Now a visit to the loft to gather all my parts...

TSR.2's... Assemble!

:goodjob:

You've a great build in there, somewhere under the filler!  I want to build a TSR.2, but I'm too chicken, so I'm procrastinating until a really nice, well-engineered modern kit comes out.  I'm fully aware that this will not happen anytime, well, ever.

After waiting 18 years since Airfix first released their injection moulded TSR.2 kit, I don't think any more are coming along so It's time to bite the bullet and get them built. :hmmm:

Not at all - I’m glad to have rekindled interest in the kit!

Thanks Jack, more filler to come too, but it’s all good skill development I guess?! 🤷‍♂️

If Airfix can’t make the economics of a new tool work, maybe one of the Ukrainian manufacturers might? Seems like a TSR-2 is right up Clear Prop’s or Modelsvit’s alley? 🤞

Back when I bought my Airfix kit - about 15 years ago I think - there were a lot of AM add-ons available and Hannants had 2 "What If" decal sheets in their Xtradecal range. Over time one or two new offerings have turned up but a lot of the old ones including the decs seem to have gone. I do still have a pair of Freightdog 1/72  "TSR 2 Supersonic drop tanks" if anybody is interested - I used Tornado tanks in the end! I think I also have a spare Tornado style laser rangefinder blister for under the nose.
