Looking for a postwar “what if” color scheme for a Weserflug P.1003

Recommended Posts

Hello everyone,

I am working on a 1/48 Weserflug P.1003 VTOL aircraft and want to depict it in a postwar scheme of a European or Middle East country.  Many German aircraft served following the war, including Spanish-built Buchons, Bf-109’s in Romania, Siebel 204’s and Fw-190’s, in France, and Me-262s in the Czech Air Force.  I find most of the schemes rather basic, but am partial to some of the Bulgarian schemes.  I also love the Croatian WW2 schemes. The Israeli schemes in the sixties were interesting.   Any suggestions for an interesting scheme much appreciated.   Thank you all.

First decision is: what role does it fill? Second decision is: who owns it?

In that order because not every nation will have a need for every role, and role should, I think, be the driver of the aircraft's employment and hence camouflage type - does it need to be hidden in the air or on the ground ie when is it most vulnerable? Once you have a role, you can then extrapolate which nation would need that role to be filled, and then, you can hunt up a suitable period camouflage and markings. Of course, if it's post-war, then camouflage is not necessarily required!

What about a Swedish Forest scheme? Doesn't have to have Swedish crowns on it
