If you are watching Le Mans (which you should!)

You will notice that Tamiya is sponsoring a LMP2 team.

Usually (sometimes..) when Tamiya sponsors a car, they release that car as a model, perhaps it will happen again this time.

As the Oreca 07 was a staple of WEC / Le Mans many years, there would be possibilities to create many a livery.

As much as I would hope for a 1/20 model, I think its likely that, should it be released, it would be a 1/24 model

I am watching Le Mans, I did notice the sponsorship, and I hope that they do release an Oreca.  There are lots of really nice schemes that the after-market decal guys will go mad for!

Not holding my breath....only the French know what Oreca is....

Don't see the business case for it.

More chance of getting a Toyota or a Porsche, as Ferrari licenses are $$$$$.

I would love the Mustang or the Huracan though.

The Oreca car is the entire LMP2 category, so if you're interested in sports car racing you know what an Oreca is, plenty of teams and colours to go with. Agreed the market may not be as big as that for a Porsche or Ferrari though.

Car 46 might be popular.

Car 46 is a BMW, not an Oreca, but I agree  would love to see a kit of that. Would prefer to see the BMW hypercar in kit form though.

Yes, I'm aware it's a BMW but in this case it's possible the number is more commercially viable than the marque.

Heard a rumour that Ferrari is once again providing licenses for model kit manufacturers and I've heard somewhere (ModelCars Mag forum? I forgot) it's probably going to be Fujimi and/or Tamiya. Not holding my breath, though. But if they do I'd grab Enzo re-release and hope for 458 Speciale.

Re : Oreca - I believe that Tamiya previously sponsored an Oreca, which never resulted in a kit, so I think it's likely that this won't be released either.

Re: Ferrari licensing - If there are new releases of LM Ferraris then I'd be cockerhoop.  The current Hypercar and 296 are both good looking cars :)

Oh dear.

The new car was also sponsored by Tamiya UK.

So, as it is unlikely that Tamiya Uk will launch their own kit, it appears it was pure sponsoring and nothing more.

As a long time Endurance Racing fan, I did spot that, and hoped for similar.

As an aside the previous week I was on vacation in Japan and made the time to visit the Tamiya Superstore in Shimbashi, Tokyo. What an experience, it's a large store, has a cafe, and a vibe more of Harrods with staff to help. Brought home a couple of models that retail at about 50% of what you'd pay in the UK with the added taxes. And getting to my point it was very heavy in the motorsports section, with a lot of interest so you'd never know!

Oh, and yes, I bought the T-Shirt too!!!!
