Evening all!

The end is near! No not that just the end of this build...

The clear coat was sanded back and polished.

Not perfect but IMHO one of my best car bodies. Getting a bit more confident with how much I can polish the super clear III. During the polishing the front started coming off. To be quite honest it wasn't glued on that well! 😄

That did make it easier to chrome the interior of the lights

And add the lights themselves

As an aside the colour on the above two photos is far closer to reality than the first one.

The front was reglued (property this time!) and more importantly the glass was glued on as well. Really pleased with that, both bits fitted like gloves!

And now the point of debate. I installed the interior tub and here we have the first glimpse of my dubious colour choices!😁

And a close up for good measure

The body colour is far too light in this last pic btw.

So I think it works but I'm not sure! It certainly stands out so at least I got that bit right! But for the right reasons...🤔😋

That's is for this one. Not much left to do. I need to install the wing mirrors, the decals on the emblems and install the chassis. Hopefully I can finish it this weekend and take do RFI pics during my lunch break when I'm working from home.

Thanks for looking, Nick

That is one beautiful model.  I must confess I wasn't entirely sold on the colour combination at the start but now it's together it really works well.  Now it's all in one piece it's a case of the whole being greater than the sum of its parts.  It's a lovely shape, positively art deco in a way, and really well finished.  Lovely job.

Cheers Keith! 🙂 That contrast is what I was looking for but I wasn't sure it would work. I have to admit when I finished the interior I thought It looked a bit too garish but the dark blue tones it down.

Thanks again! Nick

This shows the value of trusting your instincts - usually if you have a vision of how something will look and stick to it you'll end up satisfied (at least) with the results as you are here. You shoudl be pleased with the end result. Of the 20 models I've done, there's only one where I look back and wish I'd done a different scheme. And that wasn't an outlandish colour scheme, but my decision to use a Volvo dark grey on a Porsche 959.

Hopefully next time you decide to try something you're not sure about, you'll be able to look at this one for encouragement.

Cheers Spiny! Yes you are right it's worth going through with your instinct as you never know how it's going to look until it is fully painted and assembled.
