echen
@Keeff Here's one I prepared earlier on the Tiger Superthread. (It is toward the end of the page.)
Keeff
Thank you @echen ..... I need to work how best to tackle the side as its a gap between the hull and PE zimmerit sheet. I have removed the zimmerit in some areas so the grey/white will work on those. I have the wheels to keep me entertained in the meantime! 🤣 Keith 😁 Edited August 12 by Keeff
Keeff
Greetings tankfans! Now the summer holidays are done, and after a wobble in commitment to this build, 'normal' life has resumed, I've found time to get this pushed along a bit. So what have I been up to? 🤔 First up, I decided on the markings .... I purchased star decals 'Tigers in France' and am using 3 kompanie, SS Pz. Abt 101 based in Normany in 1944 ... Next, wheels were chipped .... I'd applied chipping fluid before painting them, so a bit of water, a sub and scrape with a cocktail stick gave the wear. Gloss varnish and pinwash resulted in this ..... Drive sprockets had wear added and the teeth given a a bare metal look with a graphite pencil .... The hull has had decals added, tools and tow ropes painted, chipping and an oil dot filter to tone the colours down .... Decals on the turret .... Still work to do on this .... oil dot filters, chipping, pinwash and weathering. I'm happy with the build so far .... Comments welcome as always, so until the next update ..... happy modelling! Keith 😁

Keeff
Greetings tank fans! After a lull in activity due to real life getting in the way, I've been managing a bit of time here and there to progress this build. The hull and turret have had chipping, an oil dot filter completed, a coat of gloss varnish and pinwash: I've also applied Ammo acrylic mud darkened with an earth pigment, so at the moment, it looks like this: The nearside mudguard broke off (again! ) so I decided to leave it off and add weathering: The wheels, drive sprockets and idler wheels have had a thin application of mud and are ready to fit: I've also thought that I'd assembled 20 track links that wrap round one of the drive sprockets incorrectly .... wrong way round! Luckily, this is not the case, so problem averted! Your comments welcome as usual Keith ☺️ Edited Sunday at 09:06 PM by Keeff

Bullbasket
That's got just slightly more mud on it than my car has at the moment, thanks to the local farmers and their tractors. It's coming on a treat Keith. Nice work. John. 1

Muchmirth
I like how you’ve put more mud on the side missing the fender. It actually looks better/more interesting with the fender gone. As many a pro tank modeller has said… keep it random. All the best Paul 2
Keeff
Thank you so much for the comments @Stef N., @FrancisGL, @Bullbasket, @Hamden and @Muchmirth .... they really are appeciated. For once, I sat and thought about where the mud would be flung by the tracks based on their direction of rotation ..... and where it would build up in the damaged side fenders. Still some weathering to complete ..... a bit of dust here and there and mud spatters ..... then the tracks to tackle! Keith ☺️
