JeroenS Posted May 26, 2024 Posted May 26, 2024 Hi all, this is a truck I built for Golden Age of Transport GB. It was a fun little build, the kit went together very well despite its age. I only had a little trouble when mating cab to chassis. This is the kit, a re-pop of Monogram's 1974 original. As you can see it's the logging variant. The logs that were in the kit were quite awful so one day when we were hiking I took a small saw with me, and one of the kit logs, and managed to find a fallen branch of very similar thickness, and a sort of "loggy" appearance. I haven't done anything to the logs in terms of preservation, we'll just see how that goes. I've had them for a bit in a nice and warm environment so they should be alright for some time. The windshield is optional, I chose to leave it off because it looks good on this truck. Build log is here. The chain was supplied in the kit, it was just long enough for two lengths, even with my "custom" logs. Thanks for watching! 18
keefr22 Posted May 26, 2024 Posted May 26, 2024 That's really nice Jeroen, I do like that - cool looking trucks and the real logs are great! Cracking work! Keith 1
JohnHaa Posted May 26, 2024 Posted May 26, 2024 Jeroen, Excellent results with this build ! I admire your weathering skills, it fits well with such heavy duty trucks. And keep an eye on those wooden trunks, there are beetles, you know....😄 Thanks for sharing ! Greetings JohnHaa 1

Alpha Delta 210 Posted May 27, 2024 Posted May 27, 2024 You are the truck-building master! The real "logs" look great and I chuckled at your reference to the "Build log"! 1

cherry268 Posted May 27, 2024 Posted May 27, 2024 Lovely model, well weathered, logs look fine, but i wouldn't want to try lifting those chains in real size😉 1

Anyway, I don't think they'd do much in terms of holding the logs on either 🙂
Davi Posted May 27, 2024 Posted May 27, 2024 Very nice result, impressive weathering again. I love your taste of subjects, really something special each time! 1
Viking Posted May 28, 2024 Posted May 28, 2024 Great looking truck, the weathering in particular! Cheers John 1
Old John Posted May 29, 2024 Posted May 29, 2024 That's a great build Jeroen The Bulldog is a fun little kit.Very good use of alternative materials. 1
Spiny Posted May 29, 2024 Posted May 29, 2024 Nice build there, the new 'logs' work surprisingly well. Oddly enough, up until this build I hadn't realised that solid tyres could be had with treads as well, not idea why that didn't occur to me. I was also thinking it was odd to not order the windscreen as not particularly pleasant for the driver before it occurred to me that the driver and buyer are probably two completely different people.... and the buyer probably didn't care much about giving the driver creature comfords in 1926 anyway. 1
