Farmer matt Posted June 29, 2024 Author Posted June 29, 2024 @keefr22 I wasn't doubting your spots, it was that mine would have seemed unlikely on the back of them. I get barked at for looking out the window. By Mrs F, and the dog. Not sure which is worse, the dog barks if I even touch the camera now. Matt 4

Sabrejet Posted June 29, 2024 Posted June 29, 2024 This lovely AC Greyhound wafted past while we were having a bowl of chips and cider in a pub in darkest Wiltshire earlier. 10
malpaso Posted June 29, 2024 Posted June 29, 2024 This Type 37 Bugatti was parked at the (first) pub we stopped at on today’s cycle ride. It was well-used with several Shelsey Walsh scrutineering labels in the mechanics cockpit. 11

Spiny Posted June 29, 2024 Posted June 29, 2024 Got to admit that I got fed up of house moving stuff today (just reached that lull before everything falls apart!), and with the nice weather figured it was worth going to visit the classic car show in Welwyn. Quite an eclectic mix there ranging from pre-war up to 2010 - these are a few pics from there: Austin Ambassador. I genuinely can't remember when I last saw one. Everyone's favourite insect Datsun 260Z. I didn't get to ask if it is a genuine Super Samuri - if it is it's the first one I've seen which isn't red and brown. Lotus Carlton Honda Integra. Another one which seems to have got very rare very quickly. Nice pair of Cortinas Volvo 480. Not sure about the wheels, but the car presented well. MG Metro Lancia Beta Spider. I must confess I never even knew this car existed (I'm not that up on my Italian cars). Lovely XR2, yours for a shade under £15k Cavalier soft top. This one was in lovely condition, but again the wheels aren't to my taste. Bristol Blenheim, a bit of a rarity by the sounds of it. A nice contrast with the Escort (which I also liked) behind it. Lincoln Premiere. This thing is MASSIVE! As in truly hulking. I love it, but don't think I could live with it due to the size. In contrast a pair of Austin 7s. Nose to tail they'd barely be longer than the Lincoln! Keeping the pairs theme going, only this time with early Capris Suzuki Cappucino. I've always liked these. This and the Mini look tiny against the yellow Firebird behind. Super Bee. This was one of a few logos on the car (which was a '69) And finally another one I'd not heard of, a Swallow Doretti. 15

Had a brand new E reg Mk2 XR2 Fester, lovely little thing, probably the best handling car I've had, even as standard and compared to Bilstien suspended rally prepared Escorts.... Lovely pics Spiny of some equally lovely cars! Keith 4

Got to admit that I always end up putting the 'i' on the end of 80's fast Fords. I've been known to do that with the Mk1 Fiesta as well 😖 1 1
Farmer matt Posted June 30, 2024 Author Posted June 30, 2024 Not heard of the Swallow before either. Wiki says TR2 mechanicals on a better chassis for US market, only 276 built in 1954/5. Matt 2

The Mk2 on Revolutions is the sort of thing I'd daydream about in the '80s, and I'm always happy to see a Mk3 as a 2-door. There's something just right about the look of them, with the door handle perfectly placed between the front and rear bulges. 4
bigbadbadge Posted June 30, 2024 Posted June 30, 2024 Hi all Last Sunday visited 2 retros runs , one at the Pilot for brekkie and then onto Headcorn Aerodrome, both were great, we were treated to two Spitfires coming in and out along with a Tiggie and a Stampe. Some pics of yhe cars Great retro look crossover bus, running a Scooby engine Great to seevthis old girl out again, often see it driving around 2 Supersnipes, one prostreet andcthe other satndard Lovely low mileage Polo saloon This should be in my garage,do love a Jetta GTi Golf Rallye, again yes please Cracking little 500 Cossie powered Mk2 Cossie powered Mk3 Loved this Consul Capri Gorgeous 240Z Not such a fan of these, but I know a lot of you guys like them Never seen this one before, what a cracker an AC Frua, fantastic beastie. Farmer matt Posted June 30, 2024 Author Posted June 30, 2024 Another Chevy pick-up, 1990 C1500 with apt registration. Matt 4
Farmer matt Posted June 30, 2024 Author Posted June 30, 2024 A very distant shot of this unfortunately, it is local but I never seem to see it with the camera to hand. With the colour it perhaps looks older, but it is a 1990 ( 964) 911 targa. Matt 5

It certainly did look lovely, I was thinking it reminded me of an Italian style but couldn't put my finger on what one 🙄 thanks for the info. Chris

The closest looks like a Series IV, with opening rear quarter lights and one-piece hubcap/wheel trims. Mine were all Series III, both versions featuring the fuel filler cap beneath the RH tail light reflector. Happy times but 18 mpg at best on a very good day, downhill and with a following wind. 2

It does seem as though we have similar taste in cars - even when I was little and the Mk3s were firmly in banger territory I always liked the way they looked. Still do. 1 hour ago, Six97s said: Do we get to see the whole thing? '68 - '70 B-bodies are just about my favourite cars. Well, if you insist... 6 1
