GioCare Posted May 30 Posted May 30 (edited) everybody convinced by the more rational P39 and Arma'd surprise us ! My bet is on a new P40B/C in 1/48 and later in the year in 1/72. Airfix is nice but Arma can go ahead in term of details. In 1/72 it could be at last the best P40B/C Kittyhawk MkI/II. Airfix is barely acceptable to nowaday standard of details, quite crude ...of course, it will be a COMBO announcement of P40 ! cmon, it's a better bet than a too obvious Airacobra😀 PS: Eduard is working of course on a P40 family in 1/48 but the first versions would be ready in almost two or more years, so Arma has all the time to make money with no competitors on these subjects. SpecialHobby has no early versions of P40 in its family of warhawk/KittyHawk, so the place is empty. Edited May 30 by GioCare 2
2996 Victor Posted May 30 Posted May 30 I'd be very happy with an Arma P-40B/C! I just think a P-39 or P-51B/C would be easier as they've already done the research. But whatever it is, it'll be First Class! 4

It’s a fun build and, unlike the other 1/72 kits of the aircraft, it looks right. Could Arma give us a more detailed kit? For sure! But I still wouldn’t give up my Airfix kits. 3

The Airfix one in 1/48 is more than good enough for me. No interest any longer in anything in 1/72, haven't had for years, it's just too fiddly for my ever-older eyes at this stage in life. 1
28ZComeback Posted May 31 Posted May 31 I would love a Sikorsky JRS-1, in 1/48. There. I got it out of my system. 1

It's not a question about what I like or appreciate more, it's a bet on what I think could be a interesting commercial choice. For instance the P39 Monogram - today Revell US I think - despite its age and faults is one of the kit I like more, still today, I understand that Eduard and Hasegawa have better P39, that an Arma new one in 48 could be state of the art kit ... this doesn't change my opinion on Monogram P 39: one of the best kit ever produced, in my opinion, still a nice kit in the era of the super engraved details, etc ... so the Airfix P51D in 72 scale is a nice kit, cheap and really good, despite this Arma 's announced a new P51D, and Eduard makes a new tool P51D, more detailed, accurate, etc ... I have two Airfix P51D in 72 scale and for sure I'd buy the new one from Eduard and from Arma if and when this appears ( a miracle?😀). I like the P40B/C in 72 scale even if I repeat the details is crude, in some area missed or wrong, an Arma would be spectacular. 24 h to the revelation! Ciao 2

redracer Posted May 31 Posted May 31 A lot of focus on the P-39 and I agree that a P-39 would be the betting choice. A new P-36C would be welcome, and it was flown by several combatants in WW 2. An end of war F4U-4 would be however would be the most exciting announcement they could make. It would provide the basis for a new late model F4U in 1/72 as well as open the door to the post WW2 variants which served in Korea. I do think if you were going to be placing money on a bet, the P-39 would be the bet. 2

Although, as you say, a P-36 would be a nice choice of subject - the entire P-36/Mohawk family would be very popular I'm sure, although Clear Prop! are supposed to be doing them, aren't they? Cheers, Mark Curved ball - what about a P-47N? 1
352nd Fighter Group Posted May 31 Posted May 31 (edited) 1/48 P-38 J ? Edited May 31 by 352nd Fighter Group 2

The Tamiya 1/48 P-38 has to be one of the best kits in that scale ever of a WWII fighter. The only possible thing a competitor might be able to offer would be a cheaper alternative, but whatever else they might be Arma products definitely aren't low-cost. 5

Mr Sulc, discussing on the P40 family, spoke about the KittyHawk/mohawk family, this will be the last developed. It was at the biginning of the discussion on P40 in a czec forum, I remember correctly. So also a first P40 is in Eduard plan, almost in the origin. 1 1

The Arma Hurricane is almost the price of the Tamiya P-38 here in the UK, so an Arma P-38 would be quite a bit more. 1

Homebee Posted May 31 Posted May 31 (edited) Quote Arma Hobby for Babaryba 2024 ! We invite you to our stand - where we were last year: in the depth of the festival hall on the right - looking from the main entrance. You will be able to meet and talk with the owners of the company Wojtek Bułhak and Marcin Ciepierski (main designer of Arma Hobby models) and Grzegorz Mazurowski, as well as see older and newer Army models (glued and ironed). We will reveal the latest novelty: model of the classic American fighter from World War II on 1/48 scale: test injections, turkeys, box! We will show you more information about the new model in 1/72! We will present a new product: files for self-printing 3D resin details! Let's meet at the Warsaw Modeling Festival Babaryba 2024: Saturday-Sunday, 1-2 June, Arena Ursynów, ul. Pilecki 122. MrB17 Posted May 31 Posted May 31 Trying to figure out the use of “Turkeys”. TBM Avengers were nicknamed Turkeys but certainly not a classic American fighter, unless there is a hiccup in the translations. That’s a head scratcher to be sure. When I wake up Monday morning I think I might be able to figure that out. Cheers Jeff 1
TheKinksFan Posted May 31 Posted May 31 When they write that they "will show you more information about the new model in 1/72", does this mean that the 1/72 model has already been announced? Or is it just a translation issue like the mysterious turkeys.
