echen Posted June 8, 2024 Posted June 8, 2024 I know that some builds get mistaken for restorations of full-size vehicles. Although there is no risk of that with your build due to the nature of the finished article I rather suspect that, with all the tremendous detail here, the weathering and the staging such a mistake might have occurred. I feel sure you could post a monochrome photo and people would think it was a LRDG reference pic. 3
Fabrice Simon Posted June 9, 2024 Author Posted June 9, 2024 @Kingsman before shortening the barrel of my lee enfield, I have a doubt : didn't the LRDG, as a specific unit, have equipment that wasn't very standardised? and did its members enter the unit with their own equipment? Considering the variety of improvisations and adaptations made on the field, this seems unlikely. What do you think? 1
mbthejester Posted June 10, 2024 Posted June 10, 2024 Superb build, very impressed with the entire diorama from base up, Not an LRDG expert, but I think they used just about anything they could beg borrow and steal that was suitable for the task 🙂 Cheers Mark 1
Fabrice Simon Posted June 12, 2024 Author Posted June 12, 2024 Hello !! well last post before switching to another LRDG subject Thx for following and see you ! Fabrice 12
Stick Posted June 14, 2024 Posted June 14, 2024 Well I loved the loaded vehicle on its own, but then setting it in a 'less is more' sand dune diorama really does pull the observer's focus into all your detailed work. Fabulous levels of modelling 👍 1

This time and with help from the Long Range Desert Group (LRDG) Preservation Society on FB, i have notably removed the coolant tube from the Vickers MG as the LRDG filled the coolant jacket with hypoid oil and didn’t use water to cool the guns. I think that i'm done with this little dio Hope you'll enjoy it See you soon with a Ford F-30 Fabrice That’s damn good modelling sir! I’m looking forward to see your Ford F30. I finished the ThunderModels F30 a few months ago. Great kit 🙂 1
