Roman Schilhart Posted May 16, 2024 Posted May 16, 2024 Dear fellow Britmodellers, this is the new 1/72 T-34/85 from chinese company Flyhawk. Photos by Wolfgang Rabel. The Flyhawk kit is another tooling masterpiece from the far east, including photo-etch pieces. All parts are sharp and crisp and fit well, the tracks even allow the characteristic sagging. The metal towing cable is very stiff, so I replaced it with 0.60mm wire from Eureka. The figure is from CMK. I painted with Mr.Hobby acrylics and weathered with artist oils, graphite pen, pastels and mud from my garden. Additional stowage from Blackdog. Thank you for your interest. Roman 24 1
172armour Posted May 16, 2024 Posted May 16, 2024 That's excellent work! There are many T-34 kits in 72-scale, but this has got to be the best looking one I have to say! Especially the tracks look really good, which is often difficult to pull off in this scale.
Pedro1 Posted May 16, 2024 Posted May 16, 2024 Another nice one, Roman! I missed the release of this kit, may have to get one myself 🙂 Peter
f matthews Posted May 17, 2024 Posted May 17, 2024 I'm not huge into 1/72 armour like I was when I was a kid, but have started ronsip my toes back in those waters. I've never heard of Flyhawk before-they look very nice. Are they comparable to Vespid or more like Dragon's offerings? Your stuff looks great!
edjbartos Posted May 17, 2024 Posted May 17, 2024 Another stunning model Roman, I really like the various green tones and the weathering, just superb… Ed

The new Flyhawk T-34/85 is an excellent kit, on par with the latest Vespid releases in terms of fit and detail. In my opinion it's superior to Dragon's T-34/85 (which dates back to 2006), because it features photo-etch grills and towing cables. While Dragon's original releases offered photo-etch parts and towing wires as well, their latest re-issues no longer include these, and their rubber-band tracks are always problematic. 1
