Drakendk
I came by a photo of the last remaining Horten 229 at an American museum. The photo just grabed my attention and a few days later I fell over the 1/72 Revell offering at a hobby shop. This was a fairly quick build as i did not go for super detailing but more the overall appearance of the aircraft during restoration. The wood flaking at the tail was done with a sharp knife. Most attention went to the painting/patina stage which was done with a mix of acylics and pastels to mimik the rust and wood that shows through the paint. A fun little project that i enjoyed all the way. Thanks for watching. Edited April 30 by Drakendk

georgeusa
This is a great way to display this kit. Very original and it looks completely realistic and appropriate to photos of this aircraft in storage at the Smithsonian. Well done and thanks for sharing.

kapam
I’m sure I’ve seen the same photographs. They are quite evocative, seeming to show the Horten in a dusty back room of the museum. You captured the vibe really well. The frayed timber edges look amazingly realistic. Beautifully done! 👏👏👏
