Thanks, Steve! Poland is fine by me.

The one thing I can't quite fathom is, Mr Hasegawa once told me that the moulds for the B version of the 1/48 Skyhawks of the Hasegawa family kits were Kaput. And this is why the reissue was not going to happen.

So, where are these Hobby 2000 kits coming from then? :hmmm:

The majority of the B kit is the same as the C. The only difference is a small sprue with the correct nose parts (and a B instrument panel). If the B nose sprue was damaged, maybe Hasegawa made a new one. After Hobby 2000 released their Crusader boxings it was about a year later than Hasegawa did another release of their Crusaders. Maybe we'll see another B issue from Hasegawa not too far off.

From Hasegawa. This ruined mould shtick is getting old. Hase makes their mould old way from steel, they last forever.

Excellent. I hope the TA-4J and F follow. Been looking for the FAC F release or a decal set to cover a USMC Vietnam War FAC to put on a J forever.

Well, at least I hadn't spent many hours CAD modelling and 3D printing an A-4B conversion kit for the Hasegawa C.... 🙃

I consider it a sacrifice to the modelling gods!

P.S. you lot owe me a beer 😉

I would have bought it, your detail would have been better than the Hasegawa detail I suspect.

No worries, they'll sell out of the kit, then you'll be kn business again!

Oh? Ruined mould shtick? :hmmm:

Well, get it together, Hasegawa. I've got an e-mail from one Toshi Fushiguro, saying that the moulds for both the Hasegawa 1/48 A-4B and A4D-2 kits had sustained heavy damage from the flooding of the warehouse caused by the tsunami back in March 2011.

Hi,

That's amazing!

I've been to Japan and I know where Shizuoka (Hasegawa's place) is and where the area affected by that tsunami is.

Shizuoka never had any flooding from that tsunami. I can't imagine Hasegawa having a storage space for their moulds hundreds of miles away on the other side of the island.

Cheers, Stefan.

Even stupider, "Toshi Fushiguro" is a fictional chacacter.

Pretty sure a banned member just outed themselves, yet again.

By powers vested in my as a modeler of 60 years, I hereby proclaim the release of the Hobby2000 A-4B the Modeling Event of 2024.

In stock at Exito in Poland €30.89 for the B €30.20 for the C.  I used Exito when the 1/48 Crusaders were boxed by Hobby 2000.

I ordered mine from this outfit.  My first time using them.  Hope it goes okay.  I figured if they could get you a Crusader to Kansas, they could get a Skyhawk to Utah.

I used them most recently in January for a Hataka Paint order (Hataka's Polish). I've had several orders with them over the last few years and never had a problem. Really I've had more issues with places located in the USA than overseas.

I just bought two C models from Hobby Search in Japan earlier this year.  SWMBO would kill me if she saw yet another Skyhawk come thru the door.  She doesn't know a Skyhawk from Ta 152, but she recognizes the Hasegawa logo and can spot light gull gray over white enough to say, "Don't you already have a couple of those?"

I got 3 A-4Cs from Sprue Brothers when they came in and have an old B nose sprue left over from the Falklands kit and another resin B conversion. The problem I've been running into is finding B decals for units that flew combat missions in Vietnam.

I am hoping the decals printed by Cartograph are good in the Hobby 2000 kits.
