Tommy Liu Posted April 12 Posted April 12 (edited) Good morning, afternoon and evening. Below is my first Classic Airframes Kit Polikarpov I-152, bought from the aftermarket. The interior resin parts were broken, and there were a lot of gaps to fill and sand. The decal number "305" was broken while removing it from the decal sheet, probably because it is an aged kit. I chose to paint the vertical stabiliser in light blue and white that match the colour of Nationalist Insignia. History Pictures in China Interior I hope you enjoy it. However, resin and PE parts are very detailed and delicate. Thus, It is worth the time consumption and patience. Tommy
Bell209 Posted April 16 Posted April 16 Having built a CA kit, I know the demands they place on your skills - well done!
georgeusa Posted April 16 Posted April 16 Classic Airframe kits can be quite challenging matching the plastic to the PE to the resin and hoping each design team spoke with its other mates regarding how each section will go together. Just a beautiful little plane that looks like it should have been in WWI rather than WWII. Thanks for sharing.

CLA kits are always challenging, but they always improve my level. I looked at your special hobby Fiat CR.32 ROCAF, I am wondering how it was. Considering that I also have the CLA CR.32 collection and they are from the same manufacturers, may I have any feedback from you? Cheers, Tommy

However, it is worth putting those efforts in when you look at your built CA kits that are very beautiful and detailed. This plane was produced during Inter-war and mainly exported to Spain and China. It helped China against the Japanese Army/Navy Airforce from 1937 to 1941. And, it was the supplement of a huge amount of loss on Curtiss Hawk III during the beginning of the war.
Epeeman Posted April 17 Posted April 17 I'll echo others and say what lovely work on your model I-153. Regards Dave 1

Cheers, Tommy Hi Tommy, it`s a long while since I built it but I remember that: the instrument panel sits in the wrong place if you follow the instructions, the struts kept breaking and the undercarriage was a pain to line up......the rest was easy 🙂 Cheers Russ 1

I will refer to the historical records or museum pictures before building the interior. I expected that structs are hard to assemble, but it is out of my expectation that structs are all fragile. Do you still remember the four small pieces of structs and 'N' structs in front of the windscreen connect the upper wing and fuselage, are they very fragile as well? Regards, Tommy 1
