I hope this one makes it!    I found several eligible kits in the stash, all in 1/72:

Which one I pick will depend on the timing.  Probably won’t be the Marlin- that thing is huge, and kinda ugly!

Some great choices there, I have to say that I like the Marlin even though its not the best looking aircraft.

Surely the right choice for this GB and most of the others in the bunfight this year, (Vietnam, 80s, Rolls Royce) is a Phantom. 😁

A fine selection of options there, Bill, welcome :D

@81-er how about the Gannet? While you've said contra-rotating props count as one unit, the Gannet is a bit different - two engines driving two props, each engine drove its own prop, and one of them could be shut down and its prop feathered in flight. Sounds like a twin to me - just a unique arrangement for the two engines!

The Gannet is a tricky one, while you are right that there are 2 engines powering 2 props that set up is referred to as 1,hence being the Double Mamba, and the Gannet could happily stooge around on just the 1 set working. As I say, a tricky one to call, especially as I like the Gannet, my dad overhauled the engines and worked on the last one that was done.

That is a tricky one, but given that each engine was only connected to one prop and could be shut down independantly, I think that just swings it in favour of counting the Gannet as a twin

Well folks, the time is almost upon us for the annual battle for a right to graduate to a fully-fledged group build/chance to air your worst dad jokes. There are currently 27 group builds fighting for just 7 slots, giving us a 25.93% chance of making it (assuming my maths are correct). Therefore, every vote counts, so vote for us and not for anything I'm not running  Well, unless it's an STGB, you can vote for as many of those as you like

This should be one of the best GB's and has huge potential, this year's WWII version was a huge success and there's no reason why this shouldn't be just as good if not better. Every vote is going to count so make sure you remember to do so. So its time to fire up the hot tub and dust off the budgie smugglers and let the annual blood letting that is the Bunfight begin!

Just keep any photographic evidence of the budgie smugglers to yourselves :cwl:

As day one draws to a close, we're in a three-way tie for first place with the Australia & New Zealand and Bomber Command GB's :D

Prepared to say in best Burns voice "twin propellers eh?" and then checked what year cutoff is at... Anyhow, still have one or two interesting things, so might (no guarantees) hold them until this GB starts.

It'd be good to have you aboard :)

Things are looking pretty good at the moment, we're currently tied with the ANZAC GB for 1st place. But we shouldn't get complacent as there's only 7 votes between us and the cutoff...

As the 'Conversions GB' Proposal isn't going to get any decals on it; this is the new home for me taking a perfecting good Minecraft B737-400, adding in the Welsh Models -500 conversion set. And making a mess, that'll all end in tears!

A 737 sounds like a great addition to the GB, no matter how blocky ;)

I might have a chance with the Mine-craft one! Anyhow, find me a more numerous post-war twin and I'll build it! (Famous last words)

Plenty of Dakotas uses post war, think that they outnumber the 737 by quite a margin.

Intriguing, apparently as at Sept 24 11,800 B737 had entered service as opposed to 16,000 DC-3 being produced, I guess there might a question of how many of the DC-3 survived WW2, I'd have thought that more than 4,000 were lost. But now off in search of a Civilian DC-3!
