I'm afraid it won't, Dennis, as helicopters need two main rotors to qualify for this one. Sorry about that

Maybe I'm nitpicking but I have the Special Hobby CH-37B Mojave, which is twin engine but single rotor, and the Italeri H-21C Shawnee Flying Banana, which is twin rotor but single engine...

...Your sandbox, your rules. But you may want to clarify that.

Like I did in the first post? ;) It's not perfect (as the adendum for the Gannett showed), but it's a rough rule of thumb. There's always going to be edge cases or things where someone says, “what about”, no matter how detailed you make the eligibility criteria. I just went for something that made for an easy visual distinction for 95% of subjects.

powered by two propulsion devices at all times. So that's two propellers, two jet engines, or two rotors. For clarity, a contra-rotating prop counts as one device, and rotorcraft will need two main rotors to qualify.

Agree with James completely. While there are always borderline cases etc we have to draw a line somewhere and the the clearly stated criteria is for two visible means of propulsion, hence why twin rotored helicopters are allowed.

While I agree and am by no means arguing here. The S-58T I asked about has two intakes denoting two propulsion (Jet engines) devices. However as it has only a single rotor blade I understand you’re saying no.

Yes Dennis that would be a no I'm afraid.

Since my proposal to do the Hasegawa Skywarrior seems to be the popular choice, I've decided to run with it. I've started it, to a degree, one of the problems with the "early" kit is they understandably didn't spend a fortune retooling the canopy mold, the instructions say to polish out the frame of the latter versions, so that's what I did.

I took 400, 600 and 1500 grit sandpaper and a Micro Mesh polishing kit to the canopy to do the job.

I think it tuned out well.

I realize the GB hasn't quite got off the ground yet, but I thought I'd better get this one important bit sorted out, if I screwed it up, it might have put the brakes to my plans.

I've had a plan to make all the US Navy's airborne nuclear strike aircraft, before congress handed over that role to the submarine service. I'm continuing work on the North American A3J-1/A-5A Vigilante, which would fit the bill here, if it wasn't 75 to 80% complete.

I'm also researching necessary items like decals, I've gathered kits and this decal sheet to build the Vigilante's big sister, this sheet will provide the white stenciling for the big blue whale, most of which were identical to the Skywarrior's, and are nearly microscopic when not.

There's Mini World intakes, Reskit wheels and an Obscureco A-3 Skywarrior cockpit detail set I'll grab up for the build too.

When the starting gun fires, I'll be ready...

Dave

PS, If anyone would like to follow suit, or even just have the parts needed to turn any issue of the Hasegawa A-3 Skywarrior kit into the "early version," Quickboost has the resin nose and tail parts available in their catalog of resin upgrades...

There's some cracking options there, Dave, but as Craig cautioned, you know what Enzo would say if he saw them...

Don't make me say it.  You wouldn't like me when I say it.  :wicked:

Seriously, I'm not aware what that means, except a hint it's something bad. For one thing I haven't been added to the list, I'll quit knocking at the door if I'm not invited...

It's definitely not something bad!  :)   Firstly, you do not need to be added to the list.  If you want to join the GB then you're you're in, no permission required!

Secondly, my comment is an exhortation to build 'em all.  'Cos you know you want to...  :wicked:

Oh. Sorry for being obtuse, I thought I was being scolded. I certainly do want to build them all, thanks for clarifying that...

Definitely not being scolded Dave and you are most welcome in the GB and I am sure that James @81-er will add you to the list ASAP.

As we've made it through the Bunfight and have confirmed dates, I'd not been updating the list anymore as it had served its purpose. But I've added you just to make it clear you're very welcome indeed, Dave :)

Dave once a build is scheduled some hosts (myself & others) will continue to add to the list. Others do not, once a build is through the bunfight everyone can join in at will. The list is for Enzo’s tracking purposes. More so that we can show there is enough interest and we meet the thresholds for the build rules. Otherwise once any build goes active anyone can jump in and participate.

Allow me a moment to explain this GB in-joke; our esteemed leader @Enzo the Magnificentwill, at every available opportunity, encourage us to "build 'em all" whenever we are faced with the agony of multiple potential subject choices. He also leads by example and is prolific in his participation of the various GBs that occur. To this end we have an unofficial GB motto of W.W.E.M.D.

What Would Enzo the Magnificent Do?

So if you are ever faced with a choice, be it build 'em all or buy 'em all, in the future you now know what to do ;)
