Popular Post Dunny Posted March 9 Popular Post Posted March 9 Hi All, My third completion for 2024 is SH's Barracuda, finished as LS503 of 815 Sqn FAA, flying from HMS Indomitable in August 1944. Although I have not been able to find a photo of LS403 here is a Barracuda from Indomitable from around the same time: The build was OOB - here is the WIP if anybody is interested: And on with the photos: I couldn't resist a couple of companion shots, both with 3-crew FAA brethren: And one with a stable-mate: I have to say I've really enjoyed this build, and it's nice to have a Barracuda in the collection. Thanks to all of those who have added kind words and encouragement along the way - it has been much appreciated! Thanks for looking, Roger 90 2

bigbadbadge Posted March 9 Posted March 9 Great work on this one Roger, looks awesome. Love the paint. Great to see the group photos too. Chris
M.T.Dolby Posted March 9 Posted March 9 Another beauty Roger! The colours look spot on, I really like the FAA later camouflage, especially with blue and white Pacific theatre roundels! Did the undercarriage go together well? One of the most complex out there for a single engine aircraft! 👏👏👏 Matt
AliGauld Posted March 9 Posted March 9 Yet again you bring us more TSS goodness. What a phenomenal build. A pleasure to watch it come together and an absolute joy to see the finished article along with all her little friends. Cheers, Alistair 1

Farmerboy Posted March 9 Posted March 9 That’s a beautiful model, but let’s face it, it’s a pretty ungainly looking aircraft , looks about as aerodynamic as a brick! 3

Billy54 Posted March 9 Posted March 9 Lovely model, thank you for sharing your images. Barracudas have a special place for me because my father worked on them (837 squadron) when serving aboard HMS Glory during the later stages of WWII. 1

Red Dog Posted March 10 Posted March 10 Ungainly, ugly, out of place - just the reason to build it, I think. Nicely done. 1

Sky Keg Posted March 10 Posted March 10 Outstanding Roger!!!! I started this very same kit, became frustrated with it and then set it aside. Your`s here has provided a glimmer of hope that i can get it built ( but not nearly to the level of your`s here ). By the way, how did you solve that minuscule window located at the lower side of the pilot`s station???? That part there vexed me right into a migraine headache. Great results as usual my friend. Mike Thanks very much Mike - I found it no worse than any other SH kit. The little window? Krystal Kleer - I use it for all such openings... 1
NMLeonov Posted March 13 Posted March 13 Fantastic model of an under-loved aircraft. The FAA pacific livery is so interesting to my eye. 1
