So, I've gone and done it ; This morning, almost before daylight broke, I ordered, the recently released Miniart 1\35 Stug III interior kit. 😣

Hopefully, you've all stopped laughing at what I've done and are feeling some sympathy for me...

I've not built an interior kit as yet but feel it's time to dip my toe into the water.

Here's my question; can anyone recommend a reference book or resource that will enable me to accurately paint the interior?

I have no problem with the exterior but, the inside of one of these beasts is new ground to me.

Any advice is very much  appreciated 👍

I'm off back to bed...😴

Osprey and Haynes do reasonably priced books but I am not sure how detailed they are. I too have loads of photos of the exterior but have very little on the interior. I do have some photos in an old Japanese book if you struggle with finding something.

Thanks Stef, I've spent most of the day searching for books and there seems to be lots of stuff that covers exteriors.

Thank you for your offer, I may well contact you when the time comes, although I have to say, it'll be a little way off.

Cheers Watto. 👍

Does panzertracts 'do' the Stug series?

No Stug series but they do do the PzIII series, which is close but maybe not close enough.

Look for an older copy of Achtung Panzer on EBay or Amazon.
Lots of details, but be careful because some details are out of date.

You could always contact Ron Owen Hayes on Missing Lynx.

With regards to painting the interior, Miniart are pretty good with their research, so the instructions should be fine.

There were rules and regulations (and changes) with regards to interior colours, so a check if they jive with what Miniart says is always a good idea.

Nice one Bozo, the pictures are very helpful, I still have some research to do but that helps a lot.

Thank you very much for your reply, it's appreciated 👍

Hello,

To be clear Panzertracts did in fact do the Stug series- Panzertracts 8 came out in 1999. Not much use for interior colours though.

If looking for printed references better is the old Achtung Panzer 5 that has some colour interior shots as does the Squadron Walk Around Stug Iii G by Tom Cockle.

As noted above best bet is one of the many online military reference photo sites posting shots of restored and unrestored vehicles.

Cheers!
