SimonL Posted February 10 Posted February 10 My first project for 2024, the Bronco Chaffee Light Tank in British service. Finished out of the box in the markings of “Chieftain”, C Squadron, 5th Reconnaissance Regiment RAC, 5th Infantry Division, Germany 1946. Brush painted with Vallejo paints and weathered using the same company’s model washes. Intent was to have it used but not abused. Prototypical Bronco - lots of little pieces with not so easy to follow instructions, but actually pretty fun to build (must be getting used to them). Build thread can be found here: Ventured out into the heat of the front yard (38 Celsius and it’s only 10:30 in the morning) to take some photos. Feedback welcome! 20 2
Keeff Posted February 10 Posted February 10 Let me be the first to congratulate you on a fantastic build that was a joy to follow. Nice to see our tea drinking friend appear too! Keith 😁 2
Bullbasket Posted February 10 Posted February 10 Yes, he certainly does get around a bit. That tea must be cold by now. It turned out really well in the end. You've done a great job on it Simon. Nice work. John. 1
Andy H Posted February 10 Posted February 10 Great result! I enjoyed watching this one come to life. 😎👍 1
noelh Posted February 10 Posted February 10 Excellent work. Two points: I never knew the British army had Chaffees and 38degC? Strewth! If it ever got hot here, we'd all melt. 1

Thought it appropriate as it was the kit he came in! 14 hours ago, Bullbasket said: Yes, he certainly does get around a bit. That tea must be cold by now. It turned out really well in the end. I tend to be a bit heavy handed, so I’m making a concerted effort this year not to overdo it (unless of course it’s called for!) 8 hours ago, noelh said: Excellent work. It’s 8 in the morning and already mid-20s. Bit of relief tomorrow is forecasted though.
