change of plan on the muzzle, going for a "fake" break (vertical line) and then white wavy to the end of the barrel....

Toying with the idea of adding a tanker and 101st airborne (master box kit) figures..... Would give me a reason to try figure painting again, anyone built them????

And trying add on track armour.... Late Panther tracks (have enough to do the turret sides, hull will be mix of pz iii and possibly spare Sherman tracks (or buy more....). Assume better to leave them off for painting....

More work. From photos in the book "Brothers in Arms" by James Holland I found a couple of photos of "stug-esque" rear stowage struts so have added my own. Also moved the tank spare track from middle of glacis out to one side (again there is a photo to show this might have been done)...

Also added lots to the read engine deck ready to be covered by stowage.....

Still a bit to go, need to finish the fiddly stuff up the front end and work out all the other track armour.....

On that, did the other turret side in fruil, trying an experiment, 1 run in vinegar,.one in domestos extra thick, let's see if either work to blacken....

And also having a look at stowage..trying not to overload too much but some extra tarp via miliput is likely

That's a whole lot of track!  I'm just wondering ... how did the crews attach them? 🤔

Apparently welded on in the maintenance area... So metal to metal

Thanks for that!  You'd need some hefty welds! 😂

a fair few photos today.... Firefly has gone from black primer through to modulated British green. Used the MiG Ammo British 1944-45 Olive Drab as the dark and then lightened with various amounts of buff. A final dry brush (first time doing that as part of the base coating. All paint mixed with gloss varnish (something I had seen on various builds) so I shouldn't need a gloss coat before the decals

Markings, what-if as the add on track armour is what-if. Not sure how much of this will be visible with said track armour added...
