Davi Posted January 29, 2024 Posted January 29, 2024 (edited) Hi all, After building a few cars I found myself enjoying to take pictures of the cars in an environment that made it as realistic looking as possible. That was quite difficult, so I decided to create something like a photo booth. When researching for inspiration I came across amazing diorama's. So what started with the idea of something like a photo backdrop, ended up being a much bigger and more time consuming garage that could fit several cars at once. Although I enjoyed building it, it really took much more time and effort to get it finished than expected, so I was very happy when it was done. The dimensions are approximately 60cm wide, 35cm deep and 25cm high. Although much has been hand build with wood, plastic and metal, most tools are from 2 Fujimi Garage Tool Kits. Most tools that are on the floor, are not fixed so I can play around a bit to change the setup a bit while photographing. The walls are printed on embossed paper and the floor are tiles printed on self-adhesive paper, both I thought from doll-house oriented webshops. To prevent dust covering everything up when it is not in use as photo booth, I made a cover from acrylic glass, combined with a sealing strip. Although after using it for some time I've also found out that it actually is quite a busy background when you want to focus on the actual cars in it, I still like the end result a lot. Perhaps at one point I'll create an environment that is a bit simpler and \suitable for outdoor as getting the light good with this one is also difficult, but for now it does the trick. Thanks for looking! Edited January 29, 2024 by Davi 42 1

keefr22 Posted January 29, 2024 Posted January 29, 2024 The amount of detail in that is incredible - and utterly convincing! Fantastic model! Keith 1
dnl42 Posted January 29, 2024 Posted January 29, 2024 Very nice work on this! It looks like you are ready to have fun putting together some mind-bending photos sessions! Check out @Camwader's posts, as he certainly does. 1
Neddy Posted January 30, 2024 Posted January 30, 2024 Stunning. Amazing creativity and depth of detail, truly believable. 1
Camwader Posted January 30, 2024 Posted January 30, 2024 Excellent work Davi. I know from personal experience that it's easy to get carried away with garage dioramas, and they end up being big projects of their own. I have two, in 1/12th and 1/6th scale and they continue to evolve. 1

Keeff Posted February 4, 2024 Posted February 4, 2024 That could be mistaken for a real garage in the pictures ..... outstanding work! 👌 Keith 😁 1
nimrod484 Posted February 4, 2024 Posted February 4, 2024 I think you outdid me for detail compared to my latest effort. Excellent display and composition and shows great modelling ability. Cars are tough to paint IMO and you did them very well. Jeremy 1
TommyOneTwoFour Posted February 23, 2024 Posted February 23, 2024 This is fantastic stuff, looks great, especially because of the obvious love to detail! 1
