1/35 Tamiya US infantry scouts WW2

Recommended Posts

Normally, the only figures I paint are AFV crews but recently I've been having a go at some standalone ones from Tamiya's new infantry sets. I think the sculpting is almost as good as the best resin figures, which makes painting a little easier. I did these with my usual Vallejo Model Colors and oils for washes on the hands and faces.

Excellent work Ian, the GI looks thoroughly fed up with is lot and you have captured his expression and posture perfectly.

One query: could you add slings/straps to the figures' rifles and helmets ?

I did think about rifle slings but laziness won out, I'm sorry to say. Same for the binoculars. I think they would certainly add something. The chin and liner straps are already moulded on the helmets so I just painted those. Thanks for your comment!
