Well, here's my Cunning Plan!

I already gave a sneak preview in the STGB chat,:

which have since then been joined by a couple of saucy Special Hobby Streaks.

I plan to build four Koninklijke Luchtmacht models (yay, ambition!):

- Fighter bomber F-84E (Academy)

- Recce F-84G (Academy with ModelArt resin)

- Strike F-84F (Special Hobby)

- RF-84F (Sword)

EDIT: now with added Heller 1/72nd F-84G!

Game on, sirs and madams. Game on.

Cheers,

Andre

What decal choices are you planning for the rest of the kits?

I'll have lots of SH / Sword options in addition ton the DutchDecal sheets. The Italeri F-84F will probably end up in the 162 TFS, Ohio ANG SEA option of this boxing, since there's no way I'll pull of a bare metal scheme on the Italeri.  :)

Good luck with this epich build.

Thanks! Today I got some canopy masking done, with, weather permitting, some garden airbrushing planned for tomorrow.

Let's get this show on the road!

Well, considering it's January that was a not too shabby session, methinks:

The temperature is more an issue. ;)

Apart from when the west wind is strong, I am reasonably sheltered from the winds. Looking forward to getting some assembly done after work tonight.

Oh wow! That's a proper production line.

And brave of you to do outside modelling in January!

At the end of the session my fingers did get numbish. ;)

Still, can't disappoint you lot!

One weird thing I noticed - there's a difference in the runners of my Academy F-84E/G kits! I have the nose gear bay / splitter plate parts both with (top runner) and without (bottom runner) extra attachment points.

Weird Science!

The crappy forecast notwithstanding, today's weather was actually surprisingly nice - nice enough for a Hook vs. Vallejo Air Aluminium rematch in the back garden!

Well, that was a weekend with two faces, airbrushwise..!

I had finally claimed some Me Time on Sunday ("No obligations, my dear family, dad needs to get his airbrush on!")

The good news, at least it wasn't pouring with rain yesterday. The bad news, it was quite windy. Normally not so much an issue, since the back yard is quite sheltered on three sides. Guess what the direction of the wind was...

So, at first I managed to get a decent layer of light gray on the bottom of the Italeri Flash and some Dark Gull Gray on the canopies. Then all hell broke loose - both boxes and complete models literally blew off the table ending up in the yard (luckily without too much damage). I even managed to lose my 0,4mm nozzle, never to resurface again. So with some choice words ("Sorry, neighbours") I admitted defeat.

However, after dinner, at around 19:00-ish, the wind calmed down and I decided for a rematch. And Cthulhu be praised, I finally managed to get some paint down.

More details to follow in the specific build threads, but I could not resist a thunderly family portrait:
