silverfox63 Posted January 21 Posted January 21 I'd like to join up, if I may. I know I have two Heller kits, but they're yer Airfix rebox, so automatic failure there. However, eBay is only a few clicks away, and what the hell, it's only money! Cheers, Chris. 2 1

Are these Heller kits in an Airfix box = good to go or are they Airfix kits in Heller boxes = bad, naughty! 1

It fair makes me weep to think what that poor kit endured! Oddly enough as a nipper I was quite good about not getting loads of gash glue all over kits, I'd noticed various mate's attempts at Airfix aeroplanes and though they usually looked a bit Sht for that reason, hence I was more careful with the old tube polystyrene cement 2

Hi Chris, great to have you aboard! Wez has already replied, so you're good to go with the kits already in your stash. Of course, that's no reason to not keep looking...... Cheers, Mark

I too was reasonably adept at getting stringy tube glue in the right place. Life was made a lot easier, however, when I discovered Britfix liquid poly in its tall 'easy spill' bottle. 1 3

Glad to have you along, Jean, looking forward to seeing what you choose! Cheers, Mark I have 6 or 7 Heller kits or Smer repops. I am drawn to the Curtiss H-75, which was a Christmas present from no less than @JOCKNEY, along with a couple of other gems. I will post a photo of the box art tomorrow. While in the UK, I managed to get an Xtradecal sheet about the Battle of France, and there is a gorgeous H-75 A-3 in the colors of the La Fayette squadron with green oblique fuselage band and Sioux's head. That's the one I have set my heart upon. Cheers. JR 3

Karearea Posted January 21 Posted January 21 I’ve built a few classic Heller kits as low-cost learning pieces while returning to the hobby, and I’ve come to love them. I particularly like the Swedish subjects and haven’t done the Lansen yet, so that could be the one. 3

Many people are skint after Christmas, so there’s not that much competition. 2

Just remembered that I have 4 Heller helicopters hidden away. Just checked them; the Sea King and the S A 330 puma are Airfix in Heller box, so sorry, but thanks for playing. The other 2 however, we have winners! 2 x Super Puma's, one with Exocet. EBay frenzy averted, bank account can relax, for now. Cheers, Chris. Wez, I'm sure I replied earlier but no, the Corsair and Skyraider are Airfix in Heller boxes, so they are a non starter. Edited January 22 by silverfox63 Vanishing reply 1
stevehnz Posted January 22 Posted January 22 I dunno, I'm sure I should've been there, I looked & I looked but no, not a sign of me. Can you just fix that please, it's unsettling not being there. Steve. 3
jean Posted January 22 Posted January 22 Hi again, here is a photo of the box art. Quite a nice one. Different from the old Heller Musee delightful box arts that were painted by Paul Langelle., but not bad nonetheless. Only one year to wait. JR 5

I tend to be drawn toward the Vichy markings, so that's definitely one I'd look out for. A year does seem quite a while to wait, doesn't it.....Maybe a practice run might be in order Cheers, Mark 1

Well, I'm not so sure, the Super Puma was first released as a Heller Bobcat in 1986 which is after the 31st December 1985 cut off date but the decision is of course, Mark's @2996 Victor Sorry to be the bearer of bad news 1
