Is it too late to join in the fun? I've got a F-84G to be built and painted in ROCAF livery. If Scalemates is to be believed, it's a 2014 rebox of a 1978 kit.

It's never too late to join!

Welcome to the GB - that looks like an interesting subject, something a little bit different. Looking forward to following your build.

Cheers,

Hello Victor

I I have been away from building models for a long time.

However I love the old Heller kits.

Im trying to find my way around the forum again.

Would it be too late to join and; when would the model need to be completed by?

I would like to build one of the Heller Dewoitine 510 models 😊.

With best regards

Hi TT!

Firstly, welcome back to the Forum and welcome to the Heller Classic GB!

Its never too late to join in with a Group Build. We have an end date of 8th June, but there's no pressure to get anything finished - I for one am a serial started-but-unfinished modeller. It's about having fun, after all, and getting something into the Gallery is a bonus!

A D.510 will definitely be a welcome addition to the roster - those elegant little Dewoitines are proving quite popular. When you're ready, just create a build thread (click on the Start New Topic button) alongside Heller Classic GB header, and away you go!

And if you have any questions, just fire away! Someone will be able to help.

Looking forward to following your build.

All the best,

Mark

Hello Mark

Thank you, that’s great news 😊

The Heller models of the 60’s and 70’s are so finely moulded and detailed. I really love this era of their models.

Also; their Hurticane IIc is nice. A little twiddling with the fuselage and nose, and it builds into a nice crisp, fine model.

My only help concern / ask for advice at the moment would be regarding photos of the build.

Years ago I used Photobucket, but one night it all went pear shaped. I can remember trying to download lots of photos from there.

Is there a good reliable photo hosting service, that you or any others could recommend?

One that works well with Britmodeller?

Im sorry for being … so out of date with the technology 😔

I had a long period of poor health; and I’m still re-learning how to use computers again.

Haven’t built a model for approximately 10 years, but I’m looking forward to trying 😊

I will try to modify the Heller D510, into a Lithuanian D501L

Thank you again for the warm welcome and accepting me for the GB.

Sincere best regards

Tony

PS: Somewhere in storage I have a rare Heller ‘Arc-en-Ciel’

It’s a beautiful but unusual banana shaped aircraft of the 1930’s. I believe that it needs a lot of modification to  be made into an accurate model; but it’s a lovely thing just as it is 🍌 👀 😉

Hi Tony, regarding a photo hosting site, I use Postimages. It is free and seems quite reliable. You can upload your photos and share them by simply copy and paste of a link associated with each picture.

Like @Jur I use postimages. The fact that I do shows how simple it is to use!

There's a whole thread about photos etc here

And welcome to the group builds aka hotel California 😅

Welcome back @TonyTiger91

I've used Flickr and Postimages previously

If you have the price of a coffee spare every month, you could consider Hobby Photo Host

Run by BM Member @SteveR, some of the proceeds comes back to BM as a donation

Hi Tony @TonyTiger91,

huge thanks to @Jur, @Mjwomack and @psdavidson for photo hosting advice! You guys beat me to it, but I also use Postimages and I've been pretty happy. Having said that, I wasn't aware of Hobby Photo Host and might well look into it.

Cheers,

Mark

Hi friends,

at just a smidgeon over four weeks into the the GB, a quick tot up shows that we currently have 97 build entries logged, with the most popular currently being the Spit XVIE with six entries. We also have eight builds completed and in the Gallery. I'd say that's pretty darned impressive!

On a personal note, I need to hang my head in shame, however, as thus far I've only managed some interior paint on my Spitfire. The Hurricane, D.501 and Corsair are still waiting.....

Have a great Sunday!

Cheers,

Mark

Hi everyone,

I just got myself a Heller kit of the Caudron Renault 714 on ebay. According to scalemates, the moulds date back to 1967 when the kit was originally released as L096.

So, does that qualify for a late entry to this GB?

Cheers

Hi Thomas,

welcome to the GB!

The Caudron 714 is a great subject and it definitely qualifies, plus there's plenty of time left to build it, so crack on and enjoy the fun!

Cheers,

Mark

It would never survive the bunfight, but this arrangement seems to be working amicably enough!
