Called it that they would be doing a ww2 bomber! Not the one I expected though. Pretty happy to see it nonetheless, but I don't think I'll be picking one up just yet

Nice choice by Airfix, will be getting on of these.

Looking forward to see what their other "surprise announcements" are.

I correctly predicted it, too.

I said they'd probably release an aeroplane.

Cracking artwork.

Good choice, I think quite a few RAF ones had the kit turret. Can't see my Academy one being built now.

Sorry Airfix - at £46.99 I will not be cancelling my back order for the Academy re issue. Not only is the Academy one half the price and comes with Zodiac marking from Sudbury based Aircraft which meets my self imposed rule of only modelling local subjects.

to be followed - almost certainly by an RAF/ IAF boxing or two and possibly a combo with the Bomber resupply set...but yet again it seems to have an integral nose so I guess a 'D would require a new fuselage...

TT

Great choice by Airfix. Too many engines for me. I wonder if we will now see a lot more B-24s on auction sites?

Adrian

Likewise from a Sudbury born n bred lad. Can't justify buying this as I've already got the first issue Academy Zodiac kits. Still looks good.

This is excellent news! Can’t wait to get my hands on this - well done, Airfix!

Good choice, Airfix. B-24 kits are surprisingly thin on the ground. I'm hoping for a Coastal Command release in the future.

Box art depicts B-24H-10-FO(Ford built) 42-52234 "Corky"  453BG, 733Bomb Squadron based at Old Buckenham, Norfolk, UK. Also sub titled  "Burgundy Bombers". Delivered in December 1943 ,arrived at Old Buckenham Jan 30th1944. Getting war weary by February 1945 and sent to the 446BG, 706 Bomb squadron at Bungay. survived the war sent back to the USA and scrapped.  I don't have any record of mission's flown but it must be 100 plus ?
