bar side Posted December 24, 2023 Posted December 24, 2023 Merry Xmas everybody, as Slade said 50 years ago. I seem to have spent lots of time building things & lots of other time not getting time to build things. It’s been a funny old year but somethings still got finished. The F-117 was getting built this time last year but was finished in the new year. Lights on a stealth aircraft? Why not! I wanted to see what it would have looked like when they overnighted at Lakenheath. Never seen a photo and they did visit the HASes. Then a bit of WW2 twin engined fun with with the A-26 and a couple of motors Before I build the HAS all them years I looked at a few other shed ideas. One I started to mock up was a QRA shed. For some reason I started this up again this year & it came along quite well Then the Lynx AH7 that has been looking at me from the stash. Great kit. More lights & motors Then the Shackleton seemed like a good idea. That was July….. I did pause to finish off the hand rails on my control tower. The main bit was built a couple of years ago, but never finished off. The handrails are over sized but nice & solid! So the Shack. Sanger 1/48 vacform. The body is together & some primer is on. It’s not far off done but still some way. Next year…. So thanks for the help, support & inspiration this year. Have a good Christmas and all the best for 2024 15
Bertie McBoatface Posted December 24, 2023 Posted December 24, 2023 Well done. You do like a bit of technology in your builds, don’t you. Have you ever tried flying models?

Before starting back on model building I was also into model rail, so motors & lights just seem doable. It just adds something to the builds, although the Shackleton isn’t getting working contra rotating, just lights! 1

Trouble is the shack is a vacform so just building the things is enough of a struggle. This was the Lynx though https://vimeo.com/manage/videos/839176913 hope you can see that link 1
bigbadbadge Posted December 24, 2023 Posted December 24, 2023 Cracking models, love the Stealth in the hangar with the lights. Great work all round Chris 1
AliGauld Posted December 25, 2023 Posted December 25, 2023 A wonderful set of builds. The lighting takes things to another level. Cheers, Alistair 1

JeroenS Posted December 25, 2023 Posted December 25, 2023 Nice builds, love the Lynx. Also, your sheds are awesome, really cool to display your aircraft like that.
bar side Posted December 25, 2023 Author Posted December 25, 2023 Cheers @JeroenS I have the three sheds now, but haven’t made much progress with the Type C. Still really a cardboard mock up 2
Farmerboy Posted December 25, 2023 Posted December 25, 2023 Great years work and who doesn’t like a shed! 1
