Jamesmodels Posted December 20, 2023 Posted December 20, 2023 Hi Everyone, as the year is wrapping up thought I id sum up one of my major topics which was themed around the aircraft and vehicles from the island of Malta, after visiting late last year I saw that this is a very interesting subject for someone like me who likes some British subjects. iconic stories like the Malta gladiators. i started with the gladiator which was the subject of a work-in-progress thread linked below, where I combined my skills in CAD to 3d print some of the tricker items along with some more traditional techniques. also these pair of meteors were built the newish Airfix f8 and a small 1/144 example. alclad white aluminium was used to try and get the high speed silver look. also completed this tamiya 1/35 Austin Tilly in the distinctive malta camouflage. this was the old tamiya Bren gun carrier again in a malta scheme with quite a few 3d printed additions. in the future i hope to build some of the axis aircraft/boats to accompany the home fleet, SM79 and Barchino i think. let me know what you think... Thanks James 33

AliGauld Posted December 21, 2023 Posted December 21, 2023 A great collection but the Gladiator is the absolute star. Cheers, Alistair 1
Muchmirth Posted December 22, 2023 Posted December 22, 2023 (edited) Great subject choice!! Lovely collection. The cracked Maltese’s camo on the Tilly and carrier must haven been hard to do. Edited December 22, 2023 by Muchmirth 1
Jamesmodels Posted December 22, 2023 Author Posted December 22, 2023 Wasn’t too bad just a good thin brush and a steady hand, quite a rare cami that you don’t see many people attempting. James
MRMRL Posted December 24, 2023 Posted December 24, 2023 Some quality models there, the Gladiator is especially spectacular with the open panels. 1
Bertie McBoatface Posted December 24, 2023 Posted December 24, 2023 Top of the class. I like ‘em all and the photo that I’ll remember is the one of the Meteors with false perspective. Outstanding illusion. Brilliant. 1
