JeroenS Posted December 20, 2023 Posted December 20, 2023 Hi all, this is a quick build of a kit that I'd been wanting to build ever since I got it a little over a year ago. I'd never heard of Moebius kits before so I was curious, the subject appealed to me very much. I didn't want to spend a bunch of time on it, and as it turned out the kit was perfect for it. It went together without a hitch and I had fun building it. So this is an old service truck for the Van Dordt fleet, it's not in use anymore but it's part of our history 🙂 The license plates are gone and one wiper doesn't work (wink to @CrazyCrank 🙂). It has seen better days but it still runs and drives. Hope you like it. Paint is Tamiya Flat White over a rusty base, and I used AK's Heavy Chipping Fluid to create the weathered paint. Vallejo and Lifecolour paints for the rest of the weathering. Thanks for watching! 23
CrazyCrank Posted December 20, 2023 Posted December 20, 2023 It's a pure beauty ! Absolutely gorgeous 👍 1
dnl42 Posted December 20, 2023 Posted December 20, 2023 That's just fabulous! The rust looks very realistic. Good to see some older parts of the van Dordt fleet getting their day in the sun. 1
Marco F. Posted December 20, 2023 Posted December 20, 2023 Fantastic result Jereon. You nailed the used look. I guess, if the van Dordt fleet need a support one day, this old workhorse will start after the first keyturn just to it's job once again. A nice scenery by the way Congratulations Marco F 1 1
Stickframe Posted December 20, 2023 Posted December 20, 2023 I don't know, for a "quick build" this looks great! Really looks the part, just, about, but not quite yet ready to be sent out for retirement! Cheers Nick 1
Pete in Lincs Posted December 20, 2023 Posted December 20, 2023 The lads can get it going again in their coffee break. It looks fabulous, Jeroen. Just right. 1
Spiny Posted December 20, 2023 Posted December 20, 2023 As you said in the build thread, we have totally different build styles but I still have to say that this one has worked out really rather well. It certainly doesn't look as though you knocked it out in under a week - excellent result. 1
Keeff Posted December 20, 2023 Posted December 20, 2023 That's rather good ... it certainly looks like it's an unloved worker! Keith 😁 1
Mpfiend Posted December 21, 2023 Posted December 21, 2023 Really nice Jeroen, the weathering looks spot on. Best Regards, Keith. 1
klubman01 Posted December 21, 2023 Posted December 21, 2023 That looks really good. The little touches like the wipers, like the fact that only one hub cap remains, etc. Another gem! Trevor 1
keefr22 Posted December 21, 2023 Posted December 21, 2023 That's a beauty Jeroen - in a tatty, rusty sort of way! Really great build! On 20/12/2023 at 13:05, JeroenS said: it's not in use anymore Would be a great project for the apprentices...!! Keith 1
