MRMRL Posted December 18, 2023 Posted December 18, 2023 Hi All First off, this is my favourite time of year on Britmodeller, I love the yearbooks and seeing everyone's model year in a single space, lots of inspiration to take me into the new year I've been juggling a two year old, DIY, a job (unfortunately, got to pay the bills and afford new models) plus general life this year, but I've been pretty effective at all of that amazingly (considering I really didn't feel like I had my act together last year). In terms of models built from scratch, it's been one of my best ever years (22 vs 24 in 2021, although that is boosted by the number of cars and other smaller projects), and probably would have bettered that previous PB if I hadn't been "renovating" older AFV's. I think I next year I'd like to get more ships completed, albeit that will most likely be at the cost of the overall total. That objective will probably have to wait though as I'm really keen on the Axis/Allied twins GB at the beginning of the year, so perhaps I'll just end up with more planes this year . Anyway, enough chit-chat, more pictures - here's all the models I've built from scratch this year (there's a bit of a Tamiya theme going on): Tamiya 1/35 Challenger 2 Tamiya 1/24 VW Beetle Tamiya 1/35 Panther Ausf.G Fine Molds 1/350 IJN Amagiri Tamiya 1/24 Toyota Supra Tamiya 1/35 Jagdpanzer IV My first group build entrant this year (in the Transports Loaders and Carriers: AFV Club 1/35 M-911 C-HET and M747 Trailer Tamiya 1/24 Mazdo Eunos Roadster Tamiya 1/12 Honda NSR 500 Tamiya 1/24 Porshe 911 Hong Kong Models 1/32 Lancaster MkI Tamiya 1/35 Kubelwagon Tamiya 1/35 Schwimwagon Hasegawa 1/350 IJN Agano Tamiya 1/24 Nissan Skyline Gecko 1/35 Heavy Skid Steer Loader AMT 1/25 Chevy Bel Air Tamiya 1/35 M20 Armoured Utility Vehicle Special Hobby 1/32 F-80 Shooting Star Fujimi 1/24 Ferrari 250GTO Tamiya 1/35 Marder III Italeri 1/24 DAF XF105 (link pending) Plus, if anyone is interested, here's the models I've enhanced this year as well (I'll just post links for these as I've not spent more than a couple of days working on each of them) M1078 LMTV (Trumpeter) M113A2 (Tamiya) 2.5 ton 6x6 Cargo truck (Tamiya) M1128 Stryker MGS (AFV Club) M1096A6 Paladin (Tamiya) AAVP-7A1 (Tamiya) M1A1 Abrams with mine plow (Tamiya) Crusader Cruiser Tank Mk VI (Italeri) Matilda Infantry Tank MkII (Tamiya) SAS Jeep (Tamiya) Universal Carrier MkII (Bren) (Tamiya) 25pdr Field Gun and Quad Tractor - Canadian Ford FGT (Tamiya) Churchill Infantry Tank MkIV (Tamiya) Triumph 3HW Motorcycles (Bronco) Cromwell, Cruiser Tank Mk VIII (Tamiya) 17
JeroenS Posted December 18, 2023 Posted December 18, 2023 What a nicely varied line up indeed. The Marder jumps out, for me. 1
Keeff Posted December 18, 2023 Posted December 18, 2023 Blimey! That's a right production line! All look fantastic and I have to say, I do like the Lancaster and the Marder .... Keith 😁 1
Farmerboy Posted December 18, 2023 Posted December 18, 2023 All Georgeous, but the skid steer is my favourite. ( got one on the farm ) 1
LorenSharp Posted December 18, 2023 Posted December 18, 2023 Beautiful job on all of them I especially liked the 1/32 F-80. 1
Bertie McBoatface Posted December 18, 2023 Posted December 18, 2023 Plenty of variety there. Now which is my fave...? It has to be the Marder for the classy weathering. 1
MRMRL Posted December 18, 2023 Author Posted December 18, 2023 Thanks everyone for the kind appreciation so far. I'm agreeing with the models picked out so far, I think they highlight good examples of how far my building has come. The Lancaster isn't just the biggest plane I've built but the one I've been most happy with the outcome. Same goes for the Marder, I've done things on that I've not done before, and I think the extra technique shows.
bigbadbadge Posted December 18, 2023 Posted December 18, 2023 Oh wow, wonderful models, great work all round, love the Beetle and Porker particularly. Chris 1
AliGauld Posted December 19, 2023 Posted December 19, 2023 Cracking work on all of them. Bit gobsmacked to be truthful. Cheers, Alistair 1

Cheers, Alistair Thanks Alistair, it's been quite a year, I've advanced my technique about as far as I think I can now. I'm pretty pleased with what I can put out there now. Thanks Bertie, that's high praise indeed, much appreciated. As with a few things, I took a long time to psyche myself up to it, but then wondered why I didn't do it sooner 😉 2
