Caerbannog Posted December 14, 2023 Posted December 14, 2023 Although the Revell Razor Crest is at long last a new tool Star Wars kit from Revell that is a) in a common scale and b) aimed at old-school glue sniffers with old fashioned modelling skills. Still some areas could do with improvements. Most glaring to me is the engine area. So I am working on some replacement parts for my build as below. First there is the nozzle which is better detailed and most of all allows for lighting effects. The large ring is an optional part which will result in a round end and although filling and sanding is still needed it will be most likely be easier than on the kit parts (sorry for the black resin - I printed so many parts until I was satisfied that I ran out of grey resin): The ring also shows sharper and consistend detail: Then I desided to add the open vertical lift exhaust as shown in the series when the Razor Crest is landing. You just need to cut a rectangular opening into the kit parts. The resin bits is a single piece: Something still in progess is the most trickiest bit to install. The dimensions are still not right, so more work on this is required. And will be done within the next weeks: I could imaine that I would offer just the nozzle (four parts: Reflector, nozzle and the inner ring part) and a full set if anybody is interested. Thanks for looking and comments. 2
Caerbannog Posted June 17, 2024 Author Posted June 17, 2024 Small update on the last photo above: This insert is really for the die hard, as a lot of thining is required: I did not get much response to this set by PM but for those interested please just drop me a line in which parts you are interested. 2
bjohns5 Posted June 17, 2024 Posted June 17, 2024 You probably want to make a post about this on the Science Fiction Discussion board in the Science Fiction and Real Space section. I doubt many Sci-Fi modelers look at this 3D Modelling board regularly. 1
