Homebee Posted December 10, 2023 Posted December 10, 2023 (edited) UPDATE: it'll be a 1/72nd Douglas DB-7 Boston - ref. FR0052 http://www.frrom.com/index.php?page=frrom_fr0052 This FRROM Armée de l'Air DB-7 initial boxing will eventually followed by Special Hobby RAF DB-7 Boston I & II boxings. ‐-------------- Marketing teaser campaign... FRROM game: guess our next kit project. First clue on Tuesday December 12th evening. Source: https://www.frrom.com/index.php?page=jeu_N4-2 Quote Game Nr 4 We have launched a new AZUR-FRROM project (release Q1 or Q2 2024). The goal of the game is to guess what will be this project (kit of an aircraft, in injected plastic). To win, you will have to indicate : the aircraft designer (= manufacturer) the aircraft exact type the kit scale We will give every day additional information on the plane or the kits (three clues each day, with a bonus on first day, so it might be quite fast), we will request the few people who have inside knowledge not to participate and not to give the information to their friends (staff from Special Hobby group are not allowed to participate). Winners : we will inform the winners after the game is over, and ship the kits when ready. Information and clues : D1.1 xxx D1.2 : xxx Reminder: You may play more than once, but only once in a 'play day' (see below). Please read the rules, we have slightly changed them to give you 30 mn before we accept the answers for that day. You may for sure save your answer for one day and use it at end of the day, between 18:00 and 18:30, but you should not have used it on that same "play day". The informations provided are true (but maybe misleading sometimes - the goal of the the game is NOT to have everybody winning on day one !) In your answer, please give us your geographical zone (FR or CZ or Rest of the World) and please give your answer in the Title (Objet) of your mail. Thank you ! A "major conflict" is one which involved more than 4 countries, which caused more than 5 millions casualties, lasted more than 3 years Beginning of the game (and release of first clues) : Tuesday the 12 th of December, 18:00 (french time), we accept the first answers on Tuesday the 12 th, from 18:30 (french time) Rules : Winner in each geographical zone will get one unit of the kits, shipment to our charge (the winner will be the first one to give the right answer, according to the rules). 3 geographical zones : France, Czech Republic and … rest of the world (well -yes- France and Czech Republic are a third of the world, for this game) Game will start on Tuesday, 12 th of December, 2021, at 18:00, french winter time, we will give the first clues. No answer will be taken into account before the 12 th, 18:30 (french time) Answers should be sent by the Contact page of the site Please put in the title (objet) of the message : "Game", your answer, your geographical zone Only one answer is allowed per person (so we need your family and personal name) and per ‘play day’ (see below). In case of multiple answers for a person and a ‘play day’, we will cancel ALL THE ANSWERS for this person and ‘play day’ (just in case some smart person might send the list of all planes of all planes manufacturers on first day). Variations in spelling are authorized (dots or dash or blank in type, Dassaut for Dassault), up to some limit Some additional information will be published every ‘play day’ around 18:00 (french winter time), in english first then in french (but page management may be strange sometimes) A ‘play day’ for answers runs from 18:30 (French winter time) on a calendar day to 18:30 (French winter time), next calendar day We will publish the geographical zones in which the correct answer has been given, but not the winners names before the announcement (end of game). We will advise the winners by email We will NOT use the emails addresses for commercial purposes or sell these addresses The game may be stopped at any time. if you have some questions, please ask them in the Contact page. I've got dreams: 1/48th scale Vautour II, Mystère IV and Alizé, as follow up and at the same quality level as their recent Super Mystère SMB2. 🤞 However, considering the FRROM/Azur boss aviation main focuses (for Interwar & WWII a/c in 1/72nd scale) and the most probable partnership with Special Hobby for the design and production, I admit that I have no illusions. Dennis_C Posted December 10, 2023 Posted December 10, 2023 Interestingly they are asking to guess scale too. So far they had only one kit in 1/32 (IAR-80) years ago and only one in 1/48 (Super Mystere) in 2023 while everything else has been 1/72. 1
tony.t Posted December 10, 2023 Posted December 10, 2023 1/48 Mystère IV, Mirage F.1 or Meteor T.7 would be nice. Tony

Richard Humm Posted December 10, 2023 Posted December 10, 2023 1/48 SNECMA Coléoptère as a long shot.
Corsairfoxfouruncle Posted December 11, 2023 Posted December 11, 2023 (edited) 1/48 F-8 Crusader or an Étendard or Super Étendard series ? Last ditch hope would be an F4U-7 Corsair aircraft ? Edited December 11, 2023 by Corsairfoxfouruncle
JWM Posted December 11, 2023 Posted December 11, 2023 A modern kit of Breguet XIX to follow Potez XXV is a dream, but not for now yet. Perhaps the last of series of Potez XXV - the Salmson (water cooled radial) engine one? Scale of course 1:72 Cheers J-W 1
ABeck Posted December 11, 2023 Posted December 11, 2023 Why this "game"? As I understood it is not about suggestions for future projects but about something that is in tooling/tooling completed or even with release being imminent. So whatever one will guess - it will not change anything on reality - or help changing reality. In conclusio: PURE marketing. My hope goes for a 1/35 (even better 1:36) Spitfire or series of 1:64 Messerschnitzels
Graham Boak Posted December 11, 2023 Posted December 11, 2023 Why? Well, it gets people interested in the company, which is marketing, and it also provides a source of information on subjects that modellers might buy. so it is market research, and modellers on these notice boards do enjoy this sort of thing and as the company are modellers themselves, why not provide a light-hearted source of interest? 7
Ed Russell Posted December 11, 2023 Posted December 11, 2023 Something from this list https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_aircraft_of_the_Romanian_Air_Force 1
cmatthewbacon Posted December 11, 2023 Posted December 11, 2023 I'm with Paul J.... 1/32 Stampe SV4 ... it'll sit well alongside 1/32 ICM Tiger Moths and ICM/Revell Bucker 131s... best, M. 1 1
B_Bogus Posted December 11, 2023 Posted December 11, 2023 Am I going to be the only one disappointed by the continued lack of a 1/48 Beardmore Inflexible? 1 7
Dennis_C Posted December 11, 2023 Posted December 11, 2023 (edited) I remember they did similar game sometime ago with Breguet Alize in 1/72. So let's see what comes this time. Also keep in mind Frrom is basically just an MPM/Special Hobby brand targeted to French, Belgian and Romanian markets. Could they bring Puma AS.330? I think it only exists as an 1973 Airfix/Heller version. Italeri version is Super Puma/Cougar which also begs for re-release... Edited December 11, 2023 by Dennis_C 1
Bozothenutter Posted December 11, 2023 Posted December 11, 2023 Had a look at their back catalog, nothing if not esoteric! Mostly interwar, with a little overlap to WW2/post war. Their jets seem to be a more recent foray, and their preferred scale seems to be 1/72. They don't do their own moulding, SH does that, so don't expect any stores. (Based on a sample of 2 I have to admit) It seems SH moulds the kits for the customer, then issues their own with 'extras' (see Super Mystère and Viggen) What it'll be, no idea, just wanted a lot of words to say so.....🤣🤣🤣🤣 1
