The starter kits at Heller are not just the simple kits but they just contain extra’s like glue and paint .

The QR codes are there for info about the kit with or without paint.

Thank God that this is new for 2024, and not, for example, 2022, because then it would only mean a new fuselage and tail for the 50-year-old Fujimi kit, which Heller repacked 15 years ago.

Cheers

Heller are producing a new 1/72 E-2C Hawkeye complete with folding wings supposedly for 2023 although given its now Dacember, more likely qtr1 2024. The Greyhound is a logical development of this now kit.

That's exactly what I meant - thank God it's December 2023 and there's a good chance (if not certain) that this new fuselage and tail will be mated to the wings and engines of this "2023 new tool" Hawkeye by Heller, and not to the old Fujimi junk.

Common and often-repeated inaccuracy: Heller's original Hawkeye kit was actually a reboxing of the Lee clone of Fujimi's dated tooling.

Fujimi's E-2 tooling was originally released as an E-2B and has been updated to a C and several times with various changes in the parts breakdown.   Lee's kit was a close copy of one of Fujimi's releases, but the parts arrangement on the sprues and other details such as primary panel line depth/width are distinct to the Lee release and Heller reboxing.

Presumably this will be linking in with Kinetic again with their knowledge from 1:48. (Resolved not to use the term "scaling down" as I know its not that simple!)

Well, we will see the E-2 first and based on that kit we will able to draw conclusions. I hope its gonna be a nice kit.

"Last quarter 2025", although this was part of a comments chain that suggested there may be a difference between boxes arriving at retailers and the tools arriving at the Trun plant:

Is the last comment on a screenshot suggesting a new thread for a new Heller Gazelle?

Ugh.   Also... The tooling might arrive in last Q 25. That does not necessarily mean the plastic will be in the shops.
Fingers crossed!
