A new regulator for the CO2 bottle on my MiG welder & an hour later from the same place, BOC, a small arc welder, on special as an end of line deal for 30% retail & probably all I need, the MiG will be sold. The new welder is about the size of a toaster so uber portable & easy to store, somethings the MiG is neither of.

Been keeping an eye out for one of these since they came out and managed to find one on T'bay for a reasonable price:

K5BI0Mj.jpg

The plan is it will form part of an Indian Navy jet trilogy with a SHAR and Rafale (if that ever happens).

The postman delivered this for me yesterday, it was pretty amazing as I was only talking to the nice man at Hannants on Wednesday to clear up an address problem, so they did not hang about sending it out.

I built the 21st Century Models version years ago and loved the finished article, that one was in ANR colours (Greys) this one will be a proper smoke ring jobby I think.

I’m seriously debating ( with myself ) about one of these after attempting my 21st Century ‘202. Does it look like Italeri have  addressed any of the shortcomings found on their ‘202?

Hi John from what I have read they have corrected stuff from the C202, whether they have made new mistakes I don't know (yet) I will wait for the Italian experts to comment.

In the topic about Dora Wings forthcoming 1/48 DHC-2 Beaver I told I was waiting for my Dora Wings 1/48 MS.406. Well, it's landed here but it seems two Agressors followed the poor little fighter in his cardboard box.

I had no choice but to adopt them both. Eduard's Tiger would have been devastated to be pulled apart from his older sibling at USNSFTIP. You know me, I am just victim of my good heart ... once again 😇.

Not so much a purchase but a gift from a member. Ive been after a Martin Maryland aircraft for year's. I finally have one thanks to a certain member and his generosity. I did also receive 1/48 M8 HMC decals from another member as a gift. Last but not least in an attempted trade I eventually bought a set of decals for the Super Etendard from Argentina. My half of the trade failed as The seller in Australia passed away. So I bought these instead of traded.

The AMT AC Cobra 289 from Frontier in Aus slipped through the front door a couple of daus back, as did a box from Minikiwi with a few Humbrol dropper bottle acrylic paints & a Italeri Fw 190D to offset the postage. Ordered yesterday from the same source was a bottle of Vallejo Modelcolor Black they were OOS for the previous order, an Italeri F-5A did the postage offset duties this time, I really fancy the Canadian Aggressor scheme in the latest boxing, though getting on with my Wolfpack Skoshi Tiger build in the Asia GB, which is pure Italeri F-5A plastic, I'm not sure sure another was a smart move. Also 'cause it was something I'd meant to do for yonks, an Amodel Pilatus PC12 to finish in our local Sounds Air colours. But wait, there's more, ordered from Japan a Hasegawa Subaru Impreza with decals for the vehicle Kiwi Rally ace Possum Bourne drove to win the Hong Kong to Peking Rally in 1995. Another gap in my car kits, now filled thanks to a nudge from @Windy37's Tamiya Impreza build.  Thats all, I think. :)

To have to offset the postage with something we like when ordering a little something we need is sooo boring 🤣. I didn't see your Skoshi Tiger, going to take a look.

A nice day to you Steve @stevehnz.

A Maryland. Nice. An often overseen but relatively important contender in the early stages of WWII.

Not much to see just yet, I'm in the middle of a rub down & fill fest just now. Thanks for buying your Eduard freedom Fighter, The instruction for it from the Eduard website have answered a couple of things that the Wolfpack ones didn't. :)

You're most welcome. I often refer to Eduard's site and monthly info, many useful things there. The Tiger was a steal, 40€, less than the original AFV Club kit. As always, I intend to use the PE as an add-on, not the parts where you need to erase decent plastic details.

Cheers.

From Postscript Books

My share of a batch of much reduced books for various family members Blueprint - Military Jeep Enthusiast’s Manual : 1940 Onwards - Ford , Willys And Hotchkiss book , by Pat Ware , published 2022 by Crécy , expanded edition of the 2010 Haynes Manual and in the current catalogue at under half RRP , heavily illustrated throughout although around half of these are of ‘preserved’ vehicles and re-enactors.

Via Amazon

(The Cotswold Library) Eject! Eject! book , by Bryan Philpott , published 1989 by Ian Allan Publishing , second- hand copy for just under £3 , illustrated history up to publication date with first-hand accounts of various ejections.

(Books etc.) Attack Aircraft Of The West book , by Bill Gunston , published 1974 by Ian Allan Publishing , second-hand copy for just under £3 , background and development up to publication date of the Buccaneer , TSR.2 , Harrier , Jaguar , AFVG , MRCA , F-111 , A-4 , A-6 , A-7 and A-10 with illustrations limited to one black & white image/drawing of each.

From The Aviation Historian

The Aviation Historian Issue 49 journal , the penultimate issue , usual wide ranging collection of informative articles – e.g. A 1924 Argentinian round-the-world flight attempt , US Navy Goodyear Blimps in WWII , Tsetse Mosquitoes and the Mollins Gun , Part 2 of the B-58 Vietnam Pathfinder project , Trans-Canada Airlines , Vampires in Rhodesia . . . . .and much more.

Via eBay

(Powerpoint RC Model Shop) Deluxe Materials Photo Etch Glue 25ml , saw this in an advert in one of my recent Phoenix AIRMARK book purchases , water soluble and slow drying to allow for adjustment , just about to start a project with etch cockpit detail so will get a chance to see if it is more user friendly than Cyanoacrylates.

I’ve seen this model made up at several shows - on different club tables - and it makes a lovely model in itself, or in the dioramas I’ve seen it in.

Looks like a great choice of model !

A visit to Hobbycraft this afternoon resulted in these falling into my bag and my debit card falling against their till machine;

SAM_5044

Revell's US fighters in 1/144th. The last kits I bought were also in 1/144th, with my eyesight I should be going into larger scales, not smaller ones !!

Hobbycraft didn't have the Revell F-14 in 1/144th, but they did have the academy jaguar in 1/144th, so I thought why not? Especially as it was only £4 !

Whether or not these are faithful reproductions, I supect I'll be able to get on fairly quickly with them. Ha - I've said that before about kits !

One question though, what would be the best source of "desert pink", or as Academy call it, Desert tan?

Talking of AK haven't yet pulled the trigger (though I really should as one of them the last in stock) on a sizable order of their paints myself edit pulled the trigger before turning in for the night
