stevehnz Posted December 16, 2023 Posted December 16, 2023 A KP Scottish Aviation Bulldog with some Jordanian decals in it, accompanying as always some paints I wanted, from Minikiwiland again. Stealthmode too. Steve, 3
MRMRL Posted December 16, 2023 Posted December 16, 2023 I've just taken delivery of trumpeter's 1/350 Marseillaise to add to the ship collection from Jadlam Racing, I topped it up with a Revell e-type to get the most out of my loyalty points (which let me have the car for less than nothing). I'm a bit of a jadlam fan boy tbh good prices and service, and they are west country based, so quite local too. 3
UberDaveToo Posted December 17, 2023 Posted December 17, 2023 Looky here what Santa (in the guise of the United States Postal Service) brung me😊! Even the decals are in decent shape! Maybe I can send in the "Young Astronaut" application in for "Space Cowboy" type geezers... 12
Karearea Posted December 17, 2023 Posted December 17, 2023 Some Techmod decals for a 226 Sqn B-25 I’m building for the Allied Twins GB. It would work for the D-Day build, but I’ve got something smaller planned for that. Some good sales out there at the moment, finally relented and bought an Airfix C-47. I’ll pick up some postwar decals from Ventura once my account has recovered post-Christmas. 3

Very happy you managed to snag one. I’ve built 3, 1 in BA/Anti flash white (15th birthday gift and my first Bare Aluminium job) and 2 SEAC. I have started another 2 kits, 1 exactly like yours and 1 original issue with real jet sound (doesn’t even begin to sound like one, but it scares the cats). I am a huge Monogram fan and have been for over 50 years. I managed to find the Cutting Edge decals for NB-52B “Balls Eight”. There’s also a great book by Brian Lockett, titled “Balls Eight”. Many beautiful colourful photos and a comprehensive history. It’s available as a downloadable e-book for about $10 US and worth every penny. Enjoy your kit/s Cheers Jeff 1

Geez, mate; not my scale, but sure I'd really like to have one. If only Hph at least made a 1/48 B-52A/B nose to go with their kits, I'd build this version as well. Awesome purchase, lad. Cheers, Igna I snagged it from an eBay seller for roughly $150... 1
PhantomBigStu Posted December 17, 2023 Posted December 17, 2023 Got my last Christmas shopping done, also grabbed some yellow masking tape from Amazon, not specifically modelling tape but at a fiver for 50m worth a punt. Also accepted a nice offer on a frog mirage iii on eBay having decided to convert one to a v in the upcoming frog Gb and having got the v bits out the stash this morning couldn’t say no 4
alt-92 Posted December 18, 2023 Posted December 18, 2023 Bunch of Mr.Color Aqueous greys from the 300 series. Received a bunch of AirGraphics resiny bits - ALQ-131, Pave Knife, Dutch F-16 Terma pylons, and travel pods. 2
Spookytooth Posted December 19, 2023 Posted December 19, 2023 No plastic (Having spent my allowance last week) on some paints needed for what I got last week. I still need to get some lead shot and a couple more colours but that can wait until payday. Simon. 2
andrewfl290 Posted December 19, 2023 Posted December 19, 2023 Border Dambuster Lanc, being delivered by Parcelforce tomorrow, coincidentally at the same time as a new artificial Christmas tree so we'll see if stealth mode works getting in without the wife noticing 😉 5 1

I could write a book on how to disguise kits, but I’d probably be lynched by a mob of angry modellers! Cheers Jeff 2 3
chrisrope Posted December 20, 2023 Posted December 20, 2023 I was idly browsing for a 1/72 Jaguar and didn’t find much at a reasonable price Popped into the charity shop for a Quick Look and bagged this for 2 squid’s 10
UberDaveToo Posted December 21, 2023 Posted December 21, 2023 My other Christmas gift to me showed up today, a bit pricey, but it made all the way from Ukraine in just two weeks: The cast resin fuselage and tail were wrapped in cellophane like grandma's home baked fruitcake. Of course I unwrapped them like a kid on Christmas morning, had to scope 'em out y'know. There's plenty of injection molded parts as well. I snagged this a few years ago and needed sump'n for it to chase... 9
MrB17 Posted December 21, 2023 Posted December 21, 2023 (edited) @UberDaveToo How big is your tree? Once upon a time I had the A Model An-22, and silly me I sold it to some fellow in Texas. Still kicking my self over that one. The guys in the model club couldn’t resist poking fun at me about it. My surname is Dick and the NATO code name for the An-22 is C*ck. So here comes Dick with his 36” C*ck hardy har har. And yes I’ve heard them all. That version of the Tu-95 is my favourite and I really wish Trumpeter would have done it in 72nd. That’s a good score! The F-106 ain’t too shabby either. Just noticed the markings on the box, I have a picture of me somewhere posing with 07 from the Montana Air National Guard, they were staging out of CFB Namao for Maple Flag and required servicing much to my delight. BTW if you do it in that scheme, all of them featured sky blue upholstery and trim in the cockpit, very stylish. The CO had a chrome ashtray for his cigar, those were the days. (Admin's I have tried to be as PC in this matter as possible, but if I’ve pushed it too far, feel free to pull it.) Cheers Jeff Edited December 21, 2023 by MrB17 Additional information 2

AdrianMF Posted December 21, 2023 Posted December 21, 2023 Well it isn't a purchase per se. Four or five years ago I was on a work trip to Denver with a colleague. I persuaded him to park up by Colpar Hobbies and we popped in for a quick look. He is a real life motorbike fan and owns two Ducatis and has no interest in model making. I came out with a cheap helicopter kit and he came out a few minutes later with a bag... I have offered to build them for him at six-monthly intervals ever since. He recently decided that model making is not for him, so these turned up in the post yesterday: He had made a bit of a start: I see paint stripper in my future. I will use my regular acrylics for it. And we are hoping that the Pangiale clear sprue turns up, or I will be talking to Mr Tamiya. So, this will be my first Tamiya build ever! I have no idea at all about motorbikes either. Not sure whether this qualifies as a KUTA build or not! Regards, Adrian 7

I want to do the Six up in the markings of my dad's outfit, the 48th FIS from '66 to '71, when he retired. But I may do both. since I have the ancient Hasegawa kit too, the difference between the two kits is roughly 50 parts... There's a MA ANG Six chasing a Bear, the 48th did this often... But I may do both. since I have the ancient Hasegawa kit too, the difference between the two kits is roughly 50 parts... I built the Hasegawa kit back in 78, I picked it up at a LHS in Edmonton. I was pretty excited to build it, but when I got home I was dry fitting the main parts and discovered that they had put the wings from the F-102 in the kit. No problem back in those days, I took it back and they gave me a new one and we checked the parts before I left. A ok. The kit dates back to 69, but it fit well and looked good on the shelf. I wouldn’t mind trying the Meng kit. It would make a great OOB build and the markings on the box top. Are the decals ok? With all those extra parts, it must have the missile bay I would hope. It would look good beside the Tu-95 and also a good size comparison. Enjoy your kits Cheers Jeff
DennisTheBear Posted December 22, 2023 Posted December 22, 2023 A rather nice gentleman realized that since he wasn't going to live to the ripe old age 653 he had better do some stash clearence and I snagged these from Evilbay. Novo (ex-Frog) 1/72 Bristol Beaufort Hasegawa 1/72 NA F-86D 'USAFE' 3 Airwaves detail sets: AC72190 Douglas DC-3/C-47 Dakota AC7295 F-102A Delta Dagger AC72108 TBF Avenger Since he doesn't live too far away and offered local pick-up I even saved on the postage. Decals are fine, and it has the missile bay & racks. 1
Circloy Posted December 22, 2023 Posted December 22, 2023 Pair of tyres for the car and some headlight bulbs. 1
flyboy2610 Posted December 22, 2023 Posted December 22, 2023 A registered domain name and a Squarespace subscription for a personal website (modeling and blogging) I'm working on. Way to early to go public with it, though. 1
klr Posted December 22, 2023 Posted December 22, 2023 Another Special Hobby/ex-Academy Ju 87D-5 "Axis Satellites", which I first got last month. Same agreeable price as the first time. I can now sell of those old Revell Ju 87D/G kits. Also, the Special Hobby SF-260 with late bulged canopy: My first ever SF-260, worth the wait. The "flat" canopy version is next on my list to get, mainly for the Irish Air Corps option. A few days ago, I picked up some more cheap second-hand kits: The old Matchbox F4U-4 Corsair, which I've never built. I gave away the one I had in the stash a few years ago, and later wished I hadn't. Not because it's a great kit, just for the nostalgia. Also, the SA 365 Dauphin, which I did build back in the say. This is a Revell rebox, although the USCG HH-65 Dolphin option obviously can't be build without some serious modifications. 5
Billy54 Posted December 23, 2023 Posted December 23, 2023 I pre-ordered these 3 kits, 1/72 scale Fine Molds F-15D and 2 F-15DJs when they were first announce and they shipped from Osaka on the 19th Dec and to my surprise they arrived on the 22nd of Dec (I live in Los Angeles). I plan to finish the two DJs in the Aggressor scheme with decals supplied from DXM, the second image (yes I know it looks like one image but they are in fact two, I couldn't figure out a way to put one under the other). I picked up these decals some time ago amd am hoping these new Fine Molds kits give me the inpiration to use them. 3
