Not a purchase per se but a sale that went wrong. jsut lost a few quid on ebay sale, ended up with an old third hand laptop, looked in good nick so wiped it and sold it, arrived only to find the battery doesn't hold a charge and it was upgraded to windows 10 for which I don't have the product key . Given a full refund. What a plonker, a few more minutes checking it and would have seen the issues.

Hi, Dennis -

They're from the 'ShipCraft' series by Seaforth publishing. If you find them on Amazon, you can sample a few pages and get some reviews. The're informative and very nicely illustrated with period photographs, completed models and colour illustrations, plus an illustrated section on models and after-market available at the time of publishing, although a little out of date in some cases.

Of course, there's no colour plate of HMS Dorsetshire in the cruisers book - the curse of Andy's stash strihes again. 🙄

Not a huge amount of money, but all very useful. My daughter got a set, and I asked how much for all that. $4.04! TEMU. So I got the wife to order one for me.

A cute little glass mixing jar, a nail polish remover dispenser, several types of nice paint brushes, burnishers used for painting small dots, a cute little prop to keep your wet brushes off the table. Probably the best $4 I’ve ever spent on modelling supplies ever, and the savings translate into an Airfix Fairey Rotodyne…mwahaha.

Thank you Andy, someday I hope to do a 1/350 Hunt class (OTP Kujawiak) that my uncle served on in the early years of the war. I will check out the series as I really do want to do more ships.

You're welcome. 🙂

I'm looking at IBG's 1/700 Kujawiak - some ridiculously small parts, but especially considering they come with photo-etch, their destroyer kits are very reasonably priced. I've got a few of them in the stash - some variations on a theme of Hunt class, but they all appear ever so slightly different, with a small sprue of parts specific to each ship.

I built the kit two years ago and it’s a pretty good kit. I agree it’s the tiny parts that are hard to deal with. The big reason I want to eventually move up in scale. Build log is at the bottom of the RFI.

Caught up with a few items for a variety of projects and compared with some other recent overseas purchases fantastic delivery with 7 days from ordering from Australia and 10 from Ukraine

From We Buy Books

The Squadrons Of The Fleet Air Arm book , by Ray Sturtivant , second-hand copy of the 1984 first edition published by Air Britain.      Was wondering if anyone has both editions and could comment on whether there is much difference in the photographic content between this and the revised 1994 edition - are there any/many changes from those in the 1984 book or merely additional images supporting the new text covering the decade between them?

From Amazon

2 x Humbrol Acrylic 123 Extra Dark Sea Grey paint

From Hobby Lines on eBay

EMA Plastic Weld Liquid Cement , 3 x 57 ml. Bottles which with postage worked out at £4.65 per bottle which was a lot cheaper than many other on-line sources.

From Clear Prop! In Ukraine

Clear Prop! CP4801 1/48 A2D-1 Skyshark kit , newly released injection moulded with etch production variant following on from their XA2D-1 prototype from 2021.

Clear Prop! CPA48040 1/48 XA2D-1/A2D-1 Skyshark Main Undercarriage Legs in brass for the above.

Clear Prop! CPA48006 1/48 XA2D-1/A2D-1 Skyshark Pitot Tubes and Guns in brass for the above.

From Wells Prop Models

Wells Prop Models WPM48011 Harrier Intake Fan for the 1/48 Hasegawa/Hobby 200/Revell Kit , 3D Printed replacement part x 3 , maybe replace those in my Kinetic kits next month.

Wells Props Models WP48009 Fairey Gannet Feathered Hub for the 1/48 Airfix Kit , 3D Printed three part replacement hub for feathered propellers x 2.

From Military Books York on eBay

Authentic Decals 48-20 1/48 MiG-31 Foxhound decal sheet

Hi-Decal Decals 48-011 1/48 Sukhoi Su-17/22 M4 decal sheet

From DEKL’S in Australia

DEKL’S DZ-UK051 Decals For Aspiring Modellers – UK Version (no set scale) decal sheet , mix of national markings , sharkmouths , skulls , snake eyes , tiger’s heads etc. etc.  along with full colour UK roundels and flags (other options have Australian or US in place of the latter).       From a wide range of mainly Australian subjects in various scales this set comes as two A5 sheets and while no scale stated I would place the larger sharkmouths at least at 1/48 Fighter size.

My latest arrival is Zvezda's 1/48 Yak-3, and some Vector resin upgrades are on their way from Neomega (thanks, Gordon!).

I've also taken advantage of Arma's offer and pre-ordered one of their 1/48 Hurricane bundles, so I'm looking forward to the arrival of a Mk.IIB, a Mk.IIC and a Sea Hurri Mk.IIC as well!

Cheers,

Mark

Amazing! Wife let me buy a kit today( as its my birthday) . We went out and there happened to be a Hobbycraft close by which caused me to pay a visit. So, as I wanted  something a bit different,  I got myself the Airfix 1/43 Land Rover.   Looks to be nice kit. But I think I will go with a different colour like the green maybe. I' open to suggestions.

Brilliant, you can just imagine James Bond narrowly avoiding being sucked out of the plane at 30,000 ft 😁

At last the secret of why the British Civil aircraft industry failed: whilst our emergency exits required a button push Boeing had developed the fully automated exit for use on 737's

The wife encouraged me to go to the LMS today as I wanted some cement. Turned out they had a book sale and a 15% off sale on used items... two models for $3.75 each! Great surprise.
