This is what I have in my stash at the moment:

Revell F-16C (x2)

Tamiya F-16C

ESCI F-16B

Hasegawa F-16I

And as well some awesome decal sheets to build Aggressors and Have Glass schemes

So I'm definitely in!

Why not indeed :D

Why not I have a 2 seater I want to build as a WA ANG Lizard schemed variant. Hopefully @Old Viper Tester wont mind me placing the link.

That's an interesting and unusual variation away from the typical grey schemes :speak_cool:

Another type I’ve always liked, but never got around to modelling. Some nice Belgian schemes- I’d be keen!

Here's the opportunity to add that Belgian F-16 to your display cabinet :)

Please count me in. :D

I got more unbuilt F-16's in the stash than I want to admit. :innocent:

My main problem for this one will be to decide which nation and model I'll be doing. :banghead:

/Bosse

W.W.E.M.D? ;)

I could do the 2 seater MiG-25 killer, so please add my name to the list.

Now this is a worthy subject :hobbyhorse:

This one again already. Well I suppose I could do a few more.

Again yes   but there's plenty kits in our stashes and examples of the real thing to model so let's go for it.

If memory serves tis was the USAF’s first attempt at replacing the A-10 with a dedicated ground support version of the aircraft. So much so that they even had a 30mm gatling gun pod made the GPU-5/A. The idea was to hang the 30mm pod under the centerline.

GPU-5/A

“Developed under Project Pave Claw, the GPU-5/A was designed to adapt the power of the A-10 Thunderbolt II and its GAU-8/A gun to smaller aircraft. The resulting weapon used a smaller version of the GAU-8/A, designated the GAU-13/A, with only four barrels. Podded, the system weights 1,900 lb (860 kg) loaded with 353 rounds of 30 mm ammunition in two helical layers surrounding the gun (for reduction of overall size). The pod is completely self-contained with a rate of fire of 3,000 rpm”.

“The GPU-5/A was intended for carriage on a wide range of U.S. tactical aircraft, including the F-15 Eagle and F-16 Fighting Falcon. In the mid-1980s the USAF considered a specialized variant of the F-16 for the close air support(CAS) mission, using the GPU-5, as a substitute to or adjunct for the A-10 Thunderbolt II.”

Actually the pod was used a few times in Desert Storm once. Sadly the planes had reverted to the standard grey camouflage. Something about the pilots thinking the camouflage was ineffective unless at treetop level. Probably not wrong. The USAF found the pods caused too many issue’s such as vibration and inaccuracy. Yes I intend to add the pod I already have a few in the stash.

I have had six (6!) stalled Revell F-16:s 🇳🇴 🇩🇰 🇧🇪 🇳🇱 🇮🇹 🇵🇹 on my shelf of shame for several years already. I plan to get these NATO Falcons built in 2024 though, in one way or another. With this F-16 track record, I'm not signing in on this STGB yet although it and the Legacy Hornet are my favorite jets :coolio:

Ah, that's interesting, have a couple of those from a Hasegawa weapons set but didn't know their story. Thank you for sharing this Dennis

Much as I like the F-16 it never seemed an A-10 replacement though. Hmm, A-10 STGB... :hmmm:

Throw me up on that list Col. I've got a  nice gold 185th FW Wing Commanders F-16 and an F-16 Thunderbird that would be just perfect for this.

Another two interesting examples Loren. They'll add plenty of colour to our GB B)

Rather than flood the forum with my suggestions I was thinking to see this one into the vote before proposing the A-10 next. Although it is tempting... ach, it's only two suggestions, let's do it!

Count me - will have plenty of inspiration from RIAT 2024 :)

2024 marks the 50th anniversary of the F-16 Fighting Falcon’s first flight, and with over 4600 airframes manufactured over the last five decades, the aircraft has become one of the most successful combat jets in history. To celebrate this, the Royal International Air Tattoo 2024 will host a global celebration of the F-16 Fighting Falcon in conjunction with Lockheed Martin. The focal point being a static line-up of F-16 from around the world and of course impressive flying demonstrations of the F-16.

Ah, wasn't aware of this upcoming anniversary, while we'll be a year late this should generate some new schemes and markings to celebrate the occasion.

Oooh I do hope someone gets photographs of that. Should look very good with all of the variations.
