As you can see a few faults to sand/fill but I am happy about the rest of her,

Good results with the primer and a few things to do but overall looking great.

Watching this has made me think about digging a Beaufighter out of the stash.

In my opinion she a bit Jekyll and Hyde, some lovely bits but some nightmare bits too but worth a bash.

The good old primer, or as I call it "Lie Detector" it shows the faults much better.

Thanks @AliGauld.

While I was in priming mode I got a few more bits done.

The wheels, cowlings and torpedo need more work on them.

I've made three of them: a torpedo carrying X, a 21, and a conversion to a Mk1.

Still have two or three and an AlleyCat Mk1 conversion kit in the stash.

That is starting to really look the business now. Just bought a book about 489(NZ) sqn online, not seen it yet but I can sure see one of there's in my future. :)

Steve.

Thanks Steve, once I get the filling/sanding done I will be able to get the rest of it done.

Thanks @giemme, @elger, @marvinneko, @Zephyr91, and @Johnson.

It`s a cold one today out in the cave.

But got some filling done but I think it`s going to take a fair while to set.

Windy and cold here 🥶

Fair bit of filling there, Simon!

Ciao

Our first frost of the year down here Giorgio, had ice on the outside of the cave windows.

And yes, a fair bit of filling done but most will disappear .

Up here, on The Backside of Beyond, it's -3C right now, with a windchill of -8C. Meanwhile, down in my basement hobbyroom, it's a lovely 23C, thanks to the small electric heater i have in there.

Speaking from the Great White North, blocking up gaps (find with an incense stick), a bit of insulation on the thin walls, and a space heater work wonders for a garage. My dad had quite a nice workshop in his.

I would love dearly to have a heater in my cave but it`s only 6 foot by 4 foot so don`t have the space but hopefully I will get it insulated next year.

I'm a couple of weeks late but I just had to pay my compliments regarding your work getting those Hercules engines safely tucked up under the three piece cowlings. I've been battling with mine, on the Italeri Stirling, but at least the cowlings came off the sprues as one piece each and, more or less, the right shape.

Looking good!

They were difficult to say the least but I finally got there.

It's all starting to come together now!

I take it you won't be building that 1/72 B-36 any time soon. That's a seriously compact modelling zone!

Regards,

Adrian

No, but I do have the Airfix 1/24 Mossie in the stash .

Well, I'm highly envious of Simon's set up.  At least he has a dedicated zone!      It's alright you guys with mansions calling other people's modelling zones "compact".  [ he says in mock outrage]    I have to use the kitchen table and have had to keep it clear since early November since I finished my last build.  :crying:     Am seriously suffering withdrawal symptoms   :christmas:

But at least I've been able to do some research .......

Great progress Simon.

cheers

I feel for you, up until I moved I was building kits in the front room, but that did restrict me on what paints etc and when I could do anything , although my ex-wife was supportive.

My dear old mum brought me the "Cave" so that I have sanctuary LOL.

So stop eating! Priorities!

Beaufighter looking good though, despite the cold.

Maybe a tropical version would help?

Not sure Adrian I have fun with Vallejo Acrylic filler before.

Coming along nicely. Don´t go off the boil. I can see things are cooking here. 👍

The only thing boiling around here is the kettle, want a cuppa.

Thanks @Zephyr91, @dogsbody, @giemme, @Johnson, @elger, @KevinK, @Hamden, and @cobraleader.

It`s cold in the cave today not much done.

I found a seam.
